rooting galaxy s4 verizon.

So,
I am a total noob when it comes to rooting. Right now I'm pretty sure I've screwed up and won't be able to get it.
I'm running android version 4.3
Baseband 1545Vruemj7
Kernel 3.4.0
Build JSS15J.VRUEMJ7

I'm kind of lost and I hope that I didn't screw myself by updating. Can anybody help me get started?

From what I've read on xda. You'll have to revert back to MI1 using Odin. Then root. Save root... Let me just find the link. I'm not sure how it all works though because with these locked/newer devices. You can't revert backwards with software. Hold tight. I'll get that link

You can root mj7 with vroot then switch out Chinese super user for supersu.

I'm interested in using vroot. I am unsure how to install it though as i am running on OSX for my laptop. Can anyone post a walk through?

It says that i have to run a .exe to install vroot on my computer so that i can move on to the second step. But i can't run an exe because im on mac
