I've tried rooting my Note Edge on 5.1.1. using the guide at GalaxyNote4Root.com - Learn How to Root Galaxy Note 4 and Install Custom ROM! and at XDA and using either of the kernels they offer sends my phone into a boot loop or it just freezes on the Samsung logo.

I would love to go back to KitKat on this phone but I can't seem to do that either.

Can anyone offer a root method that actually works or a way to go back to KitKat that works? I tried going into TWRP and resting to factory and then using Odin to load KitKat back on but it always fails. The only thing that works is loading a fresh copy of Lollipop back on to try again.

I was able to root my Note 4 and Note 5 in seconds using the galaxynotet4root site, just not my Edge.

Since I figured this out on my own, I'll post what I did to root my Note Edge and it is extremely easy. T-Mobile Note 4.

Go to XDA and download the ROM on that page. Upload the ROM to your phone.

[COK2-N915T] DEODEXED - STOCK - ROOTED URv0 … | Galaxy Note Edge

Install TWRP using Odin and boot into TWRP. Tap install and install the custom ROM. Takes about a minute and the phone will be rooted and have Super SU installed as well.

That ROM is stock other then being rooted.
