Rooting/Rom Consult?

I have had this issue doing the same thing. Go into your Device Manager and check your USB Devices. See if any have a Yellow Bang! Remove them. Remove the other USB MASS STORAGE devices while here. (while phone is disconnected.

Plug in phone. Windows should auto install drivers again. If not install them yourself.

Make sure Debugging Mode is enabled of course.

Also do not select option to copy files. Just plug in phone then run the one click root.

Go ahead and root, at least to 2.6 via the instructions on page 1 of [Odin] Full EB01/EB16 Froyo leak, packaged ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**2/27. When I did it everything worked smoothly. It's the 2.7 ones that are having some issues. If you follow the instructions and download everything you need first it should be a good experience for you.

I'd never done it before but found it to be pretty straightforward and am glad I did.

Run the backup of your data and apps first and getting everything set back up the way you like it will be pretty easy.

Thanks for the tip. That was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be and I'm loving it!
