Rooting Samsung G4 AT&T unlocked on Tmobile

I have a SGH 1337 running 4.4.2.
It's a unlocked AT&T phone that I have running on Tmobile.

My main goal is to get free wifi tether/hot spot using my current data plan.

I'm confused on how to go about this since I don't have matching phone/carrier (att phone on tmobile network).

If a rom is the only way... That OK. Just need to be pointed in the right way.
