Rugged Armor and Samsung Rugged Protective

Just got this case from best buy and here are my first impressions:
-this case is really well-built, slides on (relatively) easily and fits very snuggly
-I love the kickstand and can see myself using it

As to weight, it weighs approximately 57g. this compares to the Caseology cases I bought on sale:
Parallax 38g
Skyfall 31g
Legion 45g

Basically the Samsung case is about an ounce more than the other cases i have. Also, it was nice to find a use for my kitchen scale.

Overall I am very happy with the case but now find myself trying to figure if I can actually feel the ounce difference in the case.

I find it very heavy in the hand while on the Note 9 and rather bulky.

I received the Spigen Rugged Armor case today. Very thin and light TPU. Much better than the Samsung Rugged case and the Speck Presidio Grip case.

Enjoy the Rugged Armor. It's my favorite and I've had it on my last 3-4 phones. Has taken a beating and surviving many big drops it makes it a go to case for my phones.

Good to know. Yes, having a light case is entirely changing my experience w the Note 9.

I bought the Samsung rugged one today too. Unfortunately, it does not work well w the Samsung Convertible charger while standing up vertically.
That's funny, mine didn't work well laying flat on that wireless charger but worked well in the upright position... Funny how things work differently on the same equipment.

Primary is the rugged armor. However I'm wearing the Samsung case today just to change it up. It's heavy lol.
Yeah, I know. I can't stand it compared to the lightness of the Spigen ones. Are you going to buy any others? Any others from Spigen too?

Do you guys feel there is a big difference in protection between the two - i.e. Is the extra weight of the Samsung case worth it?

I'm still on a note 8 and use the spigen tough armor and I was put of the Samsung protective case for that becuase of the size. If I get the note 9 I would either get the tough armor, the Samsung protective case or try the rugged armour but not sure if it quite matches in the protection stakes

The Samsung rugged case is very heavy.

For those of you commenting on how heavy these cases make the phone, I have a solution for you:

LOL, just messing with you

lol, you're complaining to the wrong person. I'm no stranger to bulky cases and I don't mind the weight.

The defender for the Note 9 is bulky and heavy.

The Defender is a great case for this phone. It makes it a lot easier to grip and use the spen because it makes the phone wider. The rugged case is harder for me to type as fast and grip because the phone is still pretty narrow in it.

Defender is probably the best case out there right now for this phone.

how heavy is the Samsung case? has anyone actually put it on the kitchen scales?

Too many people we're saying it was the inner hard plastic against the glass that caused or aided in their phone breaking on the Note8 forums so I'll have to pass on the Defender. Now if they bring the Pursuit series that the S9+ has to the Note9 I'll definitely be grabbing it. Kinda like the Defender but all protective rubber on the inside.
