Rumor 4.0.5 in april

Quick question - this is not meant as a put down just a question -

Is this rumor any more credible than the March 4.04 update?

Who knows. Rumors are rumors and I tend to put more stock in ones that multiple sources corroborate and multiple blogs report (they get tons of things sent to them all the time and after a while get an idea of which ones tend to be right and which ones dont and choose what ones to actually report on).

That's a common misconception and not true. Each hardware revision and software update are tested on the networks before they are pushed and if there were any show stopper bugs the most definitely could put the kibosh on them. Apple seeds several beta releases to developers and carrier testers before they are released and bugs are worked out then.

I'm not saying that Apple doesn't test there updates on different carrier networks. What I am saying is Apple them self's or a Apple chosen Verizon tester test the updates. Apple sets a date to when they want the update to come out and all the bugs are to be reported before said date. I'm telling you Apple has full control.

My understanding was there was a plan to do a SW release in late March and then another in in late April (this was in Feb that I heard this). The timing of this in April makes sense (I'm thinking that 4.0.4 wasn't ready in time, so they kept working on it. 4.0.4 was "leaked", but I think it was a sort of unofficial soak test - just my opinion though).

The reality is we won't get an update until it's pushed out to us... when that happens is up to VZW and Google. There's so much unrest when a promised update is delayed I think they are just going to let us know when its being pushed out and not tell us when its coming.

Not after the next phone is released on Verizon....
This was one of a few big issues that Verizon said you will follow us and we will not follow you with the next device release.

Yes this is credible.

Yeah not so much. Apple has enough control that if the carriers don't do what they want, apple will walk. Verizon will do whatever apple wants, and that won't be changing anytime soon.

Completely disagree as there was a big to do in nov/ dec about how the phone will be designed around what Verizon wants and not what apple wants.
I can't name my sources because of confidentiality.

Sent from the most overhyped phone since the Iphone 4s....

Nonsense. That isn't how apple operates, especially considering that the next iPhone was heavily influenced by Jobs before he died. Your sources don't know what they're talking about.

Oh? What's your position at Apple that you can make such a promise?

If a particular update had a showstopper bug Verizon could definitely put the brakes on if they wanted to.
