Thought I'd start a thread specific to running with the Galaxy Nexus with headphones. I like running with my Galaxy Nexus because I can track my time and distance with the Cardio Trainer app. Using that plus streaming my music through Google Music is far better than just running with an Ipod, even though the GNEx is kind of a beast to have banging around in my pocket (I often just carry it in my hand and switch back and forth between left and right every few minutes).
I've been using the headphones that came with the GNEX 'cause my ipod headphones wore out and fell apart. But these headphones do not want to stay in my ear at all and don't seem to handle sweat very well.
I'm probably going to break down and buy these for running:
Amazon.com: Sennheiser PMX 680 Sports Earbud Headphones: Electronics
I hear a lot of complaining about lack of compatibility with the in-line volume adjuster on with a lot of phones, but can't find specific info on whether or not the Galaxy Nexus + Google Music is compatible with these controls. Anybody have first-hand experience here?
I've gone back and forth on whether or not to even bother with a pair of sport headphones with the volume control, but these Sennheiser PMX 680s seem to have the best reviews and recommendations. However, there are several cheaper options, including some other Sennheisers that seem basically the same just minus the in-line volume control (I'm talking about the PMX 80s and PMX 70s). Not sure what the difference between these are.
I'm also still in the market for a possible armband for the GNEX, but there are other threads on that topic that have gone nowhere. And I know there are a ton of headphone topics but this one is specific to running/exercising with the GNEX.
