S 24 Ultra or wait for S25 Ultra?

Currently have the Samsung S23+ and up for an upgrade through T-Mobile. The S24 Ultra 512 gb will be about $25 monthly and the 256 gb $20, the 24 + will be even cheaper around $13 a month for 512 gb. Should I wait for the S25 but not knowing how much they will be and how much of a discount I might be eligible for or just get the 24 Ultra since it's going to be fairly cheap?

At this point, unless you have NO phone, I'd say wait on the 25. There are usually great carrier deals upon release. If the 25 doesn't tickle your fancy, the 24 should still be there.

Or take a deep dive into the latest rumored 25 specs. If there's nothing worth waiting for, grab the 24 now.

About the only issue I'm having with my S23 + is I think the charging port is starting to go bad. There are many times where the charger won't even stay in the phone it just fall out then I have to plug it back in and recharge it.

Have you tried other cables?

Have you looked in the port to see if there is debris in it or anything?

It's very odd that a USB type C cable would come unplugged from a device. USBC ports are giant holes and if you carry in your pocket or a purse where tons of lint can gather it would be very easy for debris to end up in this hole. Then plugging and unplugging the cable just pushes it deeper and would also prevent it from properly seating causing it to not want to stay connected. Conversely, there is also a large hold in the cable where debris can get lodged and again plugging and unplugging just pushes it deeper. I haven't heard of a cable tip getting damaged as often as the older style used to but it's still just a cable. Check your port and try a different cable before you give up on it. If your carrier has physical locations you might consider taking it in to have someone look at it for you if you're unsure.

As for your question you seem concerned about pricing which is understandable, let's hope things are getting better, but either would be a good choice. The S24 is slated to get 7 years of updates, so you'll have a good long relationship with that device. Plus anything the S25 might offer will only be slightly different than the S24. Most every year they say it isn't worth it to update from one year to the next so unless there's something it offers that you really want it's probably a 6 one way and half a dozen the other difference.

I'll assume you're in the US based on wording.

First as mentioned above, them if the cable is bad.
Second, check if your port in the phone has dust or dirt in it. If it does, get a plastic toothpick, the kind with floss on the other end and very VERY carefully get out what you can. You don't want to drag it and snag a pin and bend it.

As for S24U or S25U? Who knows. Nothing but rumors, "leaks", and speculation. The S24U isn't going anywhere, you'll be able to get it readily. If you are a picture taker and you don't have to have the flat screen the S24U (and likely S25U will have), get an S23U, they can be found cheap. Just make sure it's a U or U1 model and reputable source. S23U is the last Samsung to have a 10x lens. The 5x 50MP has nothing on the lower Megapixel 10x on the S23U. The 24U's 5x is acceptable at up 10x but is effectively useless after that. 10x in comparison becomes acceptable at 30x. Neither are great at 100x but the 10x lens still does better because it only needs to digitally process by a factor of 10 vs 20 on the 5x.

(Ironically and coincidentally am watching ColdFusion - Samsung in Crisis on YouTube). After what I just watched, I'd be worried about their quality control vs desire for profit for 2025 and would hold off if you want the S25U until people in the wild have tested it as a stable/problem free device.

My S24U arrives this Tuesday. The numbers were right
The trade-in finally made sense to me. Waiting g for S25U deals would also mean trade in value would be less. Just my two.
Same here I really like the titanium edges and the anti glare screen and not for certain if the 25U will have that feature or not . Also like I said if I trade in my S23+ it should be approximately $25 monthly which isn't to bad when normally is around $51. But the only color available from T-Mobile in 512GB is Onyx Black.

I suggest waiting, if it will be worse! you can get the s24u great battery, and camera

Well I finally pulled the trigger and going to trade in my S23 plus for the S24 Ultra. So far this thing is of beauty. Got the Titanium Black 512GB. I can see this is going to take forever to transfer over all my files, I might have to do this in stages..lol. Hopefully the battery won't drain down before I'm finished.
Happy new phone day. I hope you enjoy your new S24 Ultra. I love mine.
