S III Battery life...

Here's at 24% just in case I forget when I get lower. I've been meaning to post sooner but every time I get low I plug it in then think about posting later.

...something is not right there. I'd perform a reset on your device, and then use it for a day before loading all your apps.

Also, turn off GPS, and turn off auto brightness, and then see if you get better battery life.

Got my AT&T galaxy 3 a few days ago... this morning unplug with just the 4g on no apps running in the background...everything else turn off (wifi, gps, etc) unplugged at about 11:30am at about 330...battery life was already down to 55% by 3:45pm it was down to 50% asked the att rep at the store and he just said "its like that..." simple answer but still not satisfied, give me a warranty number to call... I just turn down power saving just to see what happens after this charge... either I got a bad battery or the 4g just really sucks some juice out of the battery...:(

If your still within your 30 days buyers remorse you can go into a att store and exchange it for a new one without going through warranty after your 30 days is up then you have to go through warranty.

And for the past 24 hours or so, this is mine:

That's the only way you'll use this phone for that long

you mean to tell me you can put a man on the moon but no one can make a smartphone battery that lasts a whole day? jeez!

I dont know wtf is going on with mine. Using 10-15% an hour with out even using the phone for no reason, pulling battery almost everyday. After reset ram is usually 330-380mb. Using the phone the Ram will increase like normal but when I clear it will drop to high mid to high 400mb. If I dont use the phone ill check it and its back up to over 500MB and higher. GSAM battery monitor isnt showing me anything. I'm now trying juice defender to see if that helps. This is getting really frustrating. Next step is rooting. I'm temped to sell it and go back to my rooted atrix, battery life on that was amazing.

I haven't done a factory reset yet.

Please share screen shots from Gsam battery monitor, review particularly app sucker cpu minutes, and the main summary Page

Battery shot shows when I did 2 restarts after I installed juice defender. GSAM shots are all after juice defender was installed so not really telling but sinse it barely dropped. It does show how bad it dropped before restart. 100% at 6:30, dropped to 84% by 7:45, back on charger on way to work, off charger at 8, by 10:30 i was at 64%. Checked a few email's and a few texts.

Little update. Let the battery die then charged to 100% with phone off. I hope this keeps up.

Curious as to why you own a smartphone if you're not going to do anything on it? Might as well get a old school Nokia =D Ah, the good ole' days with 3-4 days battery life and snake !

Anyways heres my usage for the day. I think battery life on my S3 is quite good.

Hey all. Been reading this topic for a while and finally picked up the S3 about 2 days ago. Problem is, battery life has been pretty terrible honestly. No better than my S2 I upgraded from.New normally this wouldn't shock me too much but going off many of your screenshots in here it's bad.

Anecdotally, this morning I am down to 90% battery in 31 minutes of the phone being unplugged with only 12 minutes of screen on time...And on Wi-Fi, no lte...

This extrapolates out poorly when I look at some of the screen shots on this thread with people getting 15 hours on a single charge with moderate use...

I'll post some full day screenshots later..But this seems off so far...

I have now had my sIII for about four weeks. I got rid of my SII after the abysmal ICS "downgrade" thinking I would have a great time with the new phone. I did initially love the SIII with ICS because it reminded me how much I adored my SII while it still had gingerbread on it. For about 2 to 2.5 weeks, the battery was awesome. It lasted well over 24 hours like my old phone used to last with me doing alot of stuff on it like surf, text, read and play games. However, this past 10 days or so, I have noticed the battery power dropping precipitously. For example, It was fully charged at 4:00PM today. It is now 7:50, and I am down a whopping 37%. In less than 4 hours! And, I have done virtually nothing on the phone.

I have done a few things to help alleviate the drain issue, like going into settings, data usage, restrict background usage on almost all of the apps. Still the battery disappears at an alarming rate.

As an example, when I leave my car at 7:00 am, I could go all day, with WIFI on, receiving texts, emails, updates, you name it, and by 6PM, I would leave with between 82 and 75% of battery life, often being able to make a call or two, play lots of games and read Kindle books until I fell asleep. Then, leave the phone unplugged all night and be awoke with the alarm and still have 50-60%. What has happened?

Why did it work perfect for 3 weeks, then go south? I'm mystified and upset because I feel like I'm having to babysit this phone's charge like I did my SII after the ICS downgrade. I don't know what to say except Samsung needs to get on the stick and figure out what is going on with the battery life in these units. The consumption is overkill and I know it has to be a setting or something because my phone held a charge great until a week or so ago. Same goes for the SII. How can you have a gingerbread OS that ran so beautifully and then install ICS and basically have a phone can't even be considered mobile anymore.

Also, when I am away from home and at work (Lansing, Michigan) approx 30 miles from my house, I use wifi at work. But the data roaming warning pops up constantly, even when I try to turn it off. My SII NEVER did this. And Lansing is a large city with lots of Sprint towers nearby. I'm totally puzzled.

Rooted. Set CPU. Battery calibrate. Battery lasts forever.
