Happy to see all of the pics of the great battery life people are getting, gives me hope...
I switched to the S3 a week ago after being a long time iphone user. The new iphone 5 just didn't work in my house, we are sort of in a borderline area and it kept dropping calls or even refusing to make calls. I tried the S3, have had some issues with this but overall love the phone and all of the new things I'm going to be able to do. Also upgraded my wife a week later from her iphone, she's even liking it.
Two major gripes at this point - battery life (on both phones) and visual voicemail. I'm sure I can get the voicemail to work using some 3rd party app, but battery life is horrible. I typically unplug around 9am and I won't make it through the work day without charging. Granted I'm on the phone a little more than usual right now, but nothing crazy. If I play Temple Run for 15 minutes, my battery drops about 10% - 15%. Oddly it seems a little better today, I'm at 83% showing 2h 53m on battery, 39% cell standby and 17% screen. 10% maps which is weird haven't even used it today... For the screen, showing 12m 47s usage. Imagine if I'm watching a video, playing games, downloading new apps, etc., it goes quick at that pace, an hour of usage brings me down to 40% or so.
I enabled Juice Defender Ultimate yesterday, didn't see a huge difference throughout the day, only that I had to turn it off to run Pandora at work. I have my auto brightness turned off, screen around 30% brightness. There is no way I could do the things people have mentioned in reviews (watch movie, transfer files, an hour of this, hour of that) and get away with it.
Any ideas? Possible bad batteries (on my phone and my wife's seems unlikely)? I didn't think these types of batteries had to be conditioned, or were plagued my memory issues, and certainly nothing came with the phone to recommend any sort of initial charging etc.
Any help is appreciated.
