For some reason I got the attached message even though my S Pen wasn't detached and fully inserted. Hadn't been using my s pen prior either. Indicator that the s pen battery is finished?Screenshot_20190428-103801_Samsung Experience Home.jpg

Withing a moment of that that battery went to 1%.
I removed it from the folio case , removed pen and re- inserted and all issues went? Weird.

I figured it out. It was the multiple magnets on my Unique London wallet folio case that was causing all these issues. No wonder it was so cheap on Ebay.

Thanks for coming back and letting us know the cause!
No worries. My pleasure.

Other anomalies are also occurring. For example when closing the case cover screen write would activate 50% of the time.

I noticed that this folio case had a button size magnet on the front and back cover . It was put there for the latch. Note to stay away from those. In the past my folio cases has a discreet magnetic latch which didn't fold under or over the case hence no issues then.

I think it was the Motorola RAZR M, that a magnet case would light off car mode, which was a very restrictive operating mode. That gave folks all kinds of grief.

Way back when the Galaxy S3 came out I bought a case with a magnetic clasp. The phone went crazy. I've never used any since. In the past Samsung used to warn in the phone manual against using them.

Indeed. On my note 8 I did have a leather folio wallet type case but the magnetic tabs were located on the edge of the strap. Meaning that there were no magnets on the actual back or front of case. That one worked ok.
