S pen issue with live messages

My s pen works perfectly on everything except live messages . It did for a while, but now when I go to a solid background, I choose the color, but when I tap "start drawing" bar, it takes me back to my photo screen. Just won't let me draw on my solid color screen. I can't find any options to correct. In S pen settings, the only thing I don't have enabled is sound. Every other setting is set on. Any ideas?

If you go to settings>apps >live messages >storage permissions on and camera?

I downloaded the app, but it won't open. Nothing happens. I'm tired. Time to give up. Guess it's permanently broken.
