S pen out when screen off

when the screen is off and pull S pen out you can write on the black scree.

If i leave the pen out for 5mins for example is there a way to still to write on the screen

So are you saying that you're able to do the Screen Off memo right after taking the S Pen out, but if the pen has been out for more than 5 minutes, the feature doesn't work? Do you have to reinsert the S Pen back in, then remove it again in order for it to work?

My guess is that the timeout is intedned, so that if you wait more than 5 minutes after removing the S Pen, you can't write a memo. If it didn't, the phone might use up more battery if it always had to be ready to record a memo. The rationale is probably that people will want to take a note without having to turn on the phone screen, so they will remove the S Pen and then start writing on the blank screen immediately thereafter, rather than waiting >5 minutes.

It probably times out. You have to remember it's really not screen off, but a black screen. So it times out if you haven't done anything.

I actually tried this.
Click on the home button and you can write again.
