You guys must have never worked at an electronics plant. That is just the smell of new electronics. Some smell more, some smell less. It's like the new car smell someone mentioned earlier, it will eventually fade.
This is not a burning electronics smell. Trust me, I know.

Personally I love the smell. Reminds me of opening brand new electronics.

Does this happen to anyone else? An odor emits from my phone everytime I take the S-pen out. It's like a slight burning plastic smell. I can smell it when I'm using it normally. It's not like I'm putting my phone to my face and sniffing it. Should I be worried? Thanks!

This smell occurs with electronics especially within the device. It will go away in a bit.

I am in the process of making my Note 4 self aware.

Please folks be careful S-Pen sniffing can lead to harder sniffage like faux leather battery cover sniffing or sim card is the most dangerous.

lol mine smells too but i like it lol. it has that microchip/electronics smell. but its strong. maybe its from sitting inside the phone.

It's kinda like the smell of Best Buy in the morning.

If you look down in the s-pen silo you will notice that there is exposure to the inside of the phone and the electronics. It's a new device smell. But when you remove the spen when using it is probably like opening a vent or allowing some of the operating smells of the phone out like an exhaust. I never noticed but I just noticed when pulling out. The spen is hollow and the smell is probably just getting trapped inside. That is all.

Smell the hole on the phone itself take a Gd whiff.... Very strong smell... I know everyone on this thread is now pulling out their S-pen and sniffing the S-pen hole... Lol

I used to work in factories. I took the bait and smelled the pen. It actually does have in oder to it. It smells like styrene, which is common in plastics, mixed with something else. Like someone else said, it's the new car smell and will go away.

So with my Note 2 I put some sandlewood concentrate under the case on the back of the phone. The smell was always there.
