S pen usage

Notes. Filling out pdf forms. Surveys. Recording research. Bunches of things, including notes.

Usually when copying down numbers like phone numbers, it's faster with a pen than with a keyboard.

But the note has an awesome feature that opens up a note pad when double tapping the screen, even when it's locked. This makes using the pen a much faster and more convenient.

I also use the pen to draw and it's a night and day difference when using a pen vs. ones finger / capacitive pen.

All of the above, in addition to playing my games such as Candy Crush. I'm using the pen now to type this reply. Love this phone!

Photoshop, photo editor, snote, sometimes it aids in web browsing. Sometimes I feel like using writing recognition for texting or emailing.

I also use it to write my texts and emails, its quicker than typing, and for scrolling up and down on web pages. Ive yet to use it for drawing, but ill give that a go too when I get a spare 5 mins!

I often unlock my screen by pulling the pen out and then just go from there....using it to do whatever i'm doing. I love the lightsaber sound as i pull the pen out :)

How do you have the light saber sound when you pull out your S Pen?

With either a playstore app app or a file explorer app any sound can be changed.

I have mine set to lightsaber turn on for pulling the pen out and lightsaber off for putting back in its holder. It's actually quite awesome. I made a post about how to do it back in november in the root section here.

with the s pen toolbox app you can change the sound of the pen withdrawl and insertion to whatever sound you want....so cool!! I also have thunderstorm live wallpaper and am looking for a good thunderstorm sound to go with the spen :)

What photo editor do you use? I've always used picsay

I write notes as I'm talking on the phone (another mobile or the landline) to people at work. It's as easy as an ink pen in a paper notebook and I can write finer.

I record critical data like phone numbers using the text function and virtual keyboard.

For google searches the handwriting recognition is good enough even with scrawly letters.

The pen is easier for "clicking" in browser apps like firefox and tables of contents too, which expect you to be using a full sized tablet at least.

I do a few sketches eg size of bookcase, rough sewing patterns, mind maps etc The eraser function is very useful !!

The s Pen is what the Galaxy Note is. I don't think any other manufacturer has one yet. This is why it is not even the same sort of device as the iPad and iPhone, which would both be unuseable for what I do.

ps I bought a spare s Pen from the Samsung Service center in a different colour. Very expensive but I'm stufft if something happens to it. Having a spare means I'll never lose it now. By the way, the "walk away warning" doesn't always work.

Sadly I can't use the S-Pen for anything. Due to a tremor in my hands it's impossible for me to use it without shaking with the pen being so small. Thankfully since I can't use it for anything I don't miss it. Every now and then I do wonder what I'm missing so I try to not think about it.

I pulled it out to type this. I wish it would work with the return and menu buttons.
