S Planner -- Galaxy S 5

I had on my home screen the galaxy calendar called S Planner... while on home screen I was able to view the whole month... by accident it got moved to my trash....
I found the icon under my apps folder and moved to home screen. BUT now it is just a square box that states S Planner... I have to click it to see monthly view..
how can I get it to change so I can see the monthly view at a glance without opening the app first.. I checked the app settings and can't find anything. ... it is so annoying and time consuming to have to open the app first to see when before the whole month was visible on home screen...
can I retrieve the one I accidentally trashed?? Or is there something I'm not seeing in the setting...
please help....

you're probably talking about the widget. on your home screen, place and hold your finger to any open space and wait for the options to show. select widgets and look for the s planner.
