I do hope someone can help a bit on this as i have tried reset and a few other stuff.
I do have a bad signal in a few rooms in the house but its better on other phone.
Im on Virgin Mobile which as you know is EE until next year but the signal is Low on 4G like 1 bar to 0 and around 110 dBm.
3G is 95 tp 97 which i have had to turn on and come off 4G which then i get 1 or 2 bars.
I have tried wifi calling but for some reason when that is on people have a lot of problems ringing and is full signal on wifi.
They say they can't get through most times.
I have tried my old Iphone 8 which is on IOS 14.2 and the signal is a lot better and i mean 3g on S10 is the same as 4g on iphone 8.
If i put them side by side i get 1 or no bars on s10 but 1 or 2 bars on iphone 8 and this is on 4g.
S10 is all updated on software but it's pushing me towards my iphone 8 which i dont want or onto iphone as seems a better reception.
....Please i do hope someone can help a bit on this and is the s10 knowen for bad signal bars/reception and better phones out there.
Thanks

What's the exact model number of the phone? It may be that the phone doesn't support many of the network bands that Virgin Mobile uses.

I am using 3 on my S10+and it normally has 2 bars on 4g.

I have a utilita mobile sim that runs on EE. I will pop it in my phone and see what bars I get on it. I will get my husband to call it and see what the quality is like. I am in Chesterfield and I think EE is good in this area. But I don't know.

Let me get back to you in a bit.

Hi. OK apart from it taking ages to register onto the network, the sim card had 2 bars on 4g. Calls were clear and we tried WiFi calling as well as cellular calling. So I am not sure what your issues are. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies.
The model is ...............sm-g973f and i have had it a few months after new,i also have tried a vodafone sim that i have tried and its not a lot better if any at all.
The vodafone sim is on PAYG but the Virgin Mobile is on sim only contract.
I just find it strange that the old Iphone 8 gets a better signal which is fine as 4G is fine on 1 or 2 bars as it still works fine but its a Iphone and i like android.
Is there any Android phone which would be better to bring in the signal better with a stronger antenna like the iphone 8 does for some reason.
I have looked at the oneplus 8 pro as i have always been samsung but know nothing a lot about them and if it will be better being 5G as well if needed.

Can try reset network in settings
Settings >general management >reset>reset network.

I have tried the reset and also looked at apps that could be a problem.
Is the S10 one of the best for the antenna side of stuff as some phones have a better antenna to bring in the signal.
Got to say im very confused with is as its a dam good phone it all stuff just the signal is a massive thing.
Looks like checking out others if i can't better it in some ways.

Also if your using a case take it off see if signal better, some cases can cause this .

I have set that up through the link you said so will try that cheers but it does seem the same around 1 or 2 bars.
I have left it on 3g as i dont use the internet when im out a lot i only use it for calls/text.
Could it be mainly down to the Virgin Mobile network as it dont give you all the bands even if its EE what i have read or would this Band make any change if it had it.
I have always been with Vodafone but the sim deal was a free sim only deal as i have the big TV package and its a rolling contract each month.

You might not have any LTE towers near you. Use an app like Opensignal to see what kind of coverage your network has in your area, or Network Cell Info Lite to see where the nearest tower is.

EDIT: Oh wait, are you saying you used that latter app, since you mention "network cell info" in your thread title?

Yes mate the ''network cell info'' is where i got the reading from and got to say is a good info app,the LTE towers are close on 2 of them but i always get better on 3g.
The house is a big problem for bad signal but the thng i look at is why does anohter phone give me better signal by 1 bar side by side.
Just 2 things here i would like to know.

1......is the missing Band 800 off the V.Mobile (although its EE) make a big change being its the 4G side of it i have read.
2......if WiFi calling is on and i say have 1 bar or lower but a signal will it keep switching between WiFi and 4G for incoming call this is why people say they cant get me as if im talking on WiFi calling and go to low WiFi like outside of course it cuts off the call as no WiFi for the call and needs to go to the 4G cell tower.Screenshot_20201116-052018_Network Cell Info Lite.jpg

Also look at the signal on phone and on picture..picture shows 1 bar more(2 bars)than phone so when phone is 1 bar it could be 2.

The bars themselves aren't a good indicator of true signal -- the dBm as measured in that app is more accurate. Does the iPhone get higher dBm?

mustang7757 previously asked if you have a case on -- this can be important, since some cases can interfere with signal.

If you have wi-fi calling on, the phone will always prefer wi-fi over cell signal unless the wi-fi signal goes away. I don't think it will try to decide which is stronger.

I only get 2 bars on both 3 and with that Utilita sim card but I really have no antenna issues or call quality issues. The same sim in an iPhone 7 still only had 2 to 3 bars and that is an old iPhone. So I think their reporting is different between iPhone and Samsung. Are you able to make calls?

I had a virgin sim years ago (still use the same number ported over) and I didn't keep it long. That Big bundle offer is a pretty good deal. I had considered it myself when I recently signed up for broadband.

I am not sure another phone would make much difference, but the pixels are good value and if you have the same issue you can return it within 14 days.

I got this with the utilita sim (EE)

I am not sure it is the phone to be honest, but I am not sure another phone would solve the issue.
I only have 2 bars on mine tooScreenshot_20201116-071557_Network%20Cell%20Info%20Lite.jpegScreenshot_20201116-071709.jpeg

I have to say thank you all for looking into this for me.

I have tried with case off as its a Spigen gell case but still charges wireless through it but dont make any change.
Say i turn wifi calling on and turn it on 4g i can call A1 but not as pure as the network but still very good,if someone rings me which i have had a lot of times they say they cant get me and its in the same room where i have called from this is why i say when people call is it trying 4g so its so low it comes up with no signal even if wifi is full, thats the only conclusion i can come to on the 4g/wifi calling on.
So my only other option was 3g and no wifi calling (off) so then people can ring so i think wifi calling and a very low 4g or nothing it plays up.
I never checked through test through my iphone 8 just off signal but if i put my V.M sim in the iphone and at least 1 bar more on 4g i can work off 4g and dont miss a call which i tried for a few days.
I dont want to go down the iphone route and cant use my iphone 8 as the ear speaker is playing up this is why i went onto Android/s10 and never looked back.
They do say the new iphone 12/12pro have the new modem for the 5g so makes 4g signal even better and its the new snapdraggon one just what i read.
Thats why i say phone/antenna-modem as better one will bring in a stronger signal just going off iphone 12 as a example.

Very possibly. Have you tried contacting Samsung customer care through the members app? Speak with them and see if there is a problem with your phone. They may be able to check it under warranty. Worth trying that first. You need to use Samsung Members app you can get from the galaxy store.

Thanks for all your help and i have got a Samsung account where i do all my backups through Samsung rather than google so my account is all set up.
Im looking at the Galaxy Plus 5g being i do want a phone anyway with 5g there and ready if i need.
Is there a way to email samsung about the problem as i can give them a good email then.
