The 20:9 aspect is the killer for me. Bigger display, but thinner width than Note 10+ and round corners. Not too sure that's a content friendly aspect ratio. Big pass for me.

I don't blame you. They're entering Sony territory now. And those phones look hilariously narrow. Which is a shame, because Sony's hardware is otherwise usually quite beautiful.

I think the s20 line looks excellent aside from the prices and the look isn't as aesthetic as the s10 or note 10 lines. The internals and overall devices seem to be fantastic especially the camera's. I almost went for the s20 ultra but finally decided I'm going to wait for the note 20 as I originally planned anyway. I just need an s-pen! Also hopefully it will retain the rectangular shape that's been a staple of the note line.

I just hope the 20+ feels smaller then my note 10+ I have now. I love the screen space on the note, but it's kinda heavy and a bit too wide for one handed use for me. Lol I've dropped this phone more then i ever have with any other phone. I know the s20+ is like 10 grams lighter but I fear it won't much more narrow compared the the note 10+

I'm with ya Beth. Traded in the S10+ for the Note10+ and miss the size. I thought the S10+ was the phone I'd keep for a while but got a heck of a trade in for the Note10+ figured why not. Used the Note10+ for 6 months and while it's a hell of a phone it's just not for me. I just wish the S20+ had the same camera setup as the Ultra.

The fact that the S20 family in the US will be stuck with the Qualcomm-required add-on 5G chip, taking up space and using battery, is enough to make me skip the whole thing. That, plus the size is growing too big. The 10+ is already just over the edge of too big.

Plus, the Qualcomm 765 chip is intriguing. It'll probably create some very very very good phones.

Overall, I'd say the S20 is too little of a meaningful change. At some point, all they're doing is making changes for the sake of making changes. I wonder if we haven't reached Peak Flagship.

Bet the phones are still not ready yet with hardware.

I’ll be waiting for the Mi 10 (Pro). It’ll be around 500 pounds here in the UK with the future-proof 5G Snapdragon 965, 108MP camera with OIS, ultra-wide, a macro and depth. Sure, I’ll be sacrificing a telephoto sensor, but if it also has a 90hz/120hz display, I’m in.

Couldn't agree more. I have 2 phones and a hotspot on VZ now (75gb/month of true 4G hotspot combined) plus the balance of up to 75gb on each phone for streaming using Smart View to my Samsung TVs. I live in the country, no ISP but solid VZ wireless. About 40mb down and 10mb up. I can stream 4k HDR effortlessly using 4G with no problems. Obviously don't it around the clock since it does gobble up a lot of data, but we can watch 4 or 5 movies or an entire series each month along with our normal usage with no problems. Totally satisfied with 4G performance on VZ, not seeing the attraction for 5G anytime soon and certainly not at the premium the S20 demands..

One nice thing is 5G has proven to be a cancer causer, and because of it's limited distance penetration they're going to need to have transmitters on every block, so we'll be completely soaked in 5G waves 24/7.

There's an upside to everything lol. And I agree 4G is fine and safer ;-)

Oh we reached peak flagship usability a while ago, but in Samsung's eyes we as consumers haven't reached peak exploitation yet, so as long as we keep leaking money they're going to keep milking us :-[

Well people shouldn't buy what they can't afford and that includes just about everything but the necessities.

In a perfect world that would be true, but unfortunately in the real world it's not :-( I work with the underprivileged, and a recurring theme is people prioritizing "things", especially smartphones, over taking care of their children. And it's not just the families I work with, I see it all around me. Companies will take advantage of people in every single way possible, and excuse it away by saying "well if we don't take their money somebody else will", which is a pathetic and disgusting way to excuse blatantly trying to rip off the consumer vs reasonable and humane pricing and advertising practices.

Many of the people here are putting themselves in bad financial positions purchasing Samsung's "latest and greatest", but we'll never hear about it.

While your points are all valid it applies to everything everywhere and I've seen people spend their rent money in a lot worse ways. It's a sad reality and we aren't going to fix it anytime soon.

I feel the specs you see now... huawei was pushing people to match. And, going by dxomark, the still rank at the top and reviewers have had high praise for there cameras.

I'm with you, no doubt Huawei was pushing the envelope, making competitors bring innovations to the market more quickly instead of slowly milking it every year.

Except it hasn't, and there have been no credible and verifiable negative effects found regarding 5G. It's all fear mongering, from "well it may cause X," (yeah, and water may cause drowning, sound the alarms and ban it), to outright lies.

That's exactly why I ordered an S20 and will be trading in my Note 10+. I've had it with these jumbo phones and will go no larger than 6.3" in the future.

6.3" sounds insanely huge... Then again, my S10 is 6.1". But I guess that's why you need to hold and see the phone in person to make an informed choice on if you'd be able to use it, IMO.

Yeah, I completely ignore display sizes. They mean nothing when considering a phone's actual size. You just look up the dimensions, multiply width x length x thickness and you've got the in-hand feel (cubic volume). At 6.2", the S20 has a large enough display, yet is about as small as the S10 (even marginally smaller). Best of both worlds! I love it.

I do understand why people would want giant phones if they do not own a PC for example. A lot of people do their full-time computing from a phone.
