S20 FE, who's thinking about it?

I use SwiftKey so I can't comment on the Samsung keyboard, but I have thought that the screen is a little less than responsive to touches at times. I don't use a screen protector and I did toggle the sensitivity setting and didn't really notice a difference.

Interesting! I've been reading more and it seems there may be an issue with gesture navigation. I myself haven't been having the issues described on Reddit but I have all gesture navigation turned off.

I'm using Google gestures and those don't seem to be an issue for me. It's more if I touch to long press or drag and drop an icon, it seems iffy about it registering more than I'm used to.

ok so i brought the white one and i have to say i like it alot.
it might not have ahead phone jack but at lease it has a MICRO SD CARD SLOT 😂
its alot better than my old iphone xr thank you god i hated that thing

well I finally got around to activating my s20fe. and let me say coming from a note 10 plus, I am impressed with this thing it's lighter much easier to use one-handed and this screen is sharp. haven't noticed any issues yet but the Smart switch was fantastic I swapped everything in less than 10 minutes.

the clear case leaves left to be desired though. I probably should have gotten the silicone case. luckily I didn't pay for it though thanks to the credit. I will be upgrading to a unicorn beetle case in a couple weeks when they come out.

Samsung was supposedly back ordered on Galaxy watch 3 LTE versions in Black so I canceled my order and ended up getting an active 2 golf edition from Amazon. I ended up paying about the same as I would have for the 3 on my samsung order after discounts however Samsung's lack of information and communication was very frustrating, non existent and the ultimate reason why I canceled the watch 3 off my order and went to the golf edition

There are many reports that I am seeing of users complaining about screen issues...anything from bad sensitivity to touches to random characters appearing in places.
Has anyone here with this phone had any issues so far? When I first got mine, I immediately switched from the Samsung to the Google keyboard because typing with the Samsung keyboard was a mess. It was almost impossible to type correct spelling of words or even having the correct words appear at all. Since I changed to the Google Gboard I have had no issues at all.

Anyone having issues? I wonder if there is a bug in the Samsung Keyboard and that's what a lot of the complaints are about.

Friends don't let friends use the Samsung keyboard.....
Always use gboard

I made a comment on another article about how much bloatware comes on the device and how it can't be disabled. Someone argued with me and said that most can be disabled, despite me looking at one in store and seeing the opposite.

It got me to thinking - maybe each carrier is different.

Can someone with a Tmobile version comment on how much extra apps came on it - and which can and can't be disabled? The one I looked at had a ton of MS Office stuff, spotify, and a few others that could not be disabled. Additionally, it had the Samsung browser, SMS, and email apps.

I would consider the device if I could disable or uninstall the majority of this.

You can't disable a lot of the bloatware without help. However, Samsung devices have the benefit of an app called Package Disabler Pro that allows you to disable things you otherwise can't.

I have the T-Mobile version.
It has Bixby, something called AR Zone (no idea what that is), Samsung Health, Samsung Members, Smart Things, Linkedin, Office, OneDrive, Outlook, and the usual Google stuff. I disabled the Samsung Keyboard, disabled Bixby, and don't use any of the other Samsung bloatware. I think the only Samsung that I am using is the txt messenger app as I do not see it any different from the Google one.
Otherwise, I don't think I have any Samsung bloatware running at ll. If I do, I don't know about them and they aren't having any impact that I know of.

I'm tempted to get one as a second device, cheapest way to get Samsungs flagship 12mp camera and I want to play around with that.

I'm getting a N20 Ultra first which I've yet to do.

Has anyone here with this phone had any issues so far?

I had a few periods of random touches like what you'd get if you accidentally rested your hand on the screen. I'd have to reboot to get it to stop. Hasn't recurred since I turned off the high sensitivity and got the "ATIG" update.

Sometimes gboard will refuse to accept my swiping (it shows the trail but only actually types the first letter) but that seems to be a gboard issue specifically (happened to me on 2 other phones).

There is also some kind of weird accuracy quirk with touch-and-hold, which you can experience by doing a pinch-zoom and holding your fingers in one position. The zoom level will wiggle in and out a bit no matter how still you are holding your fingers.

I don't have the "when charging, selects items instead of scrolling" problem that seems to be quite common though. Could be a function of the actual scrolling motion people use.

Thanks
I haven't really had any of the problems I read about. Guess I'm lucky.
At this point after using the phone for 2 weeks, I'd have to say I like it with just a couple of minor things that I don't ... wish the battery lasted longer but I may still need to optimize it some more. Wish the phone was just a bit smaller. And the only real problem I have is that (and I have mentioned this before) if I have the dialer up on the screen and bring the phone to my ear, it is way too easy to accidently press one of the numbers on the dialer with my cheek. I've gotten around this by pretty much lifting the phone to my ear at an angle so that my ear touches the top of the phone and my cheek avoids touching anything.

Agreed, every samsung owner should have this , as well as Good Lock

OK so a question on this. I took a look at Package Disabler app and saw screenshots of a lot of things that I have no idea what are for. How does someone know what Samsung services to disable without risking the phone or something not working right without knowing exactly what each of these services are for? Or does the app know these things or at least tell you?

I can tell you which ones are ok to disable or you can try yourself and see if any issue and enable again. It's won't brick your device or cause it to break but some things won't work .

If you tap 3 bars left corner opens a menu Screenshot_20201015-124511_Package%20Disabler%20Pro.jpeg

YOU can tell me, or "IT" (meaning the app) can tell me which are ok to disable? If you, is it possible for you to create a list here?
And if you do, do most of these once disabled run the risk of something not working?

Thanks
