Hi all!!
I have and android radio on my car, that uses the internet from my S20, through the hotspot function, and connects for audio and calls through bluetooth. My issue is that the bluetooth connects automatically, but the hotspot I have to turn on and off each time I enter and leave the car... Is there anyway that the hotspot function turns on and off together with the bluetooth (when it connects and disconnects from this radio)?

mobile hot spot has to do with your car or radio. For example, when I am using my work laptop away from my office/home and need internet connection, my laptop is set up to where it automatically connects to my phone (only when the hotspot is on).

With that said, your radio automatically connecting to your phone... It is not the phone's or carrier's problem. It is your radio/car's connection issue. You will need to find out whether your car/radio has that option for automatic connection.

Maybe I explained wrong... My radio connects automatically, but for that I have to manually turn the hotspot on, and I wanted it to turn on automatically when I enter the car (basically when the Bluetooth connects the phone to the radio)

I don't think that option is available. From what I can see, consumers may be upset for having exorbitant data charges if devices automatically connects and exceeds their data limits

I understand, but I have unlimited data plan, so that is why I was wondering if this is possible. I had an app sometime ago that worked more or less like I wanted, when the Bluetooth connected to the radio it triggered the app and the hotspot turned on automatically, but it didn't always work...

I understand that. But from the manufacturer/carrier's perspective, that can be a huge liability. Hence why a lot of disclaimers are installed on phones, so that buck gets passed to the user and not the manufacturer or carrier.

Maybe try something like MacroDroid or Tasker that can either recognize the bluetooth connection and then turn on the hostpot or another event

for example, I was playing with Marcrodroid and set the Trigger in Connectivity/Bluetooth Event to Device Connected and then chose my car as the specific connected device for this macro (as I don't want it to enable with my Galaxy Buds Live). Then under Action, I chose Connectivity again, and then chose Hotspot On/Off. Now there is a disclaimer that it may not work on all devices, so keep that in mind. Not sure if Tasker has that same limitation. I tried it out and once my car connected to my Bluetooth, my Hotspot was enabled. ymmv.

Hope this helps.
