Are you better to have these apps selected in the "Apps that won't be put sleep" section or the "Optimize battery usage" area?
You can't have them selected in both areas as one cancels out the other and can only be used in one area or the other.

I'm having the same issues plus problems with updating apps thru the play store. I have to turn off Bluetooth, clear cache and data, stop app and restart the phone to get them to update. Same problem when I had my Note 10+. About to dump Samsung all together.

I have not figured it out on my Note 10 plus I’ve done everything to try and fix it. I got angry and went back to my iPhone for now.

Have the Tab S6 and it's doing the same thing, no notifications until you unlock the screen. iPad notifications come in each & every time within seconds, Tab S6 dead to the world until you unlock the screen.

Can't believe there is no fix for this mess.

Might just pass on the Note 20 after all this latest crap.

Oh wow,
You know what it sounds like, if you ever used a device on wifi without a Sim, and you moved away from wifi for awhile and connect back all notifications pour in, you try resetting network in settings? (Don't remember if you tried this)

should it be on LTE/4G ? These are Verizon devices.

My daughter sells some crap on eBay and I keep track of her sales. When she sells something usually I get an instant Cha ching notification on my phone. On the iPhone the Cha Ching comes in instantly. eBay and PayPal notifications only open after I unlock the screen on the S20 Ultra.

Some apps like my Ring alarm & Cameras all come in straight away. For the life of me I can't get eBay, PayPal or Bank of America apps to give instant notifications.

I use all 3 apps , I just don't leave sound on , because if I did my phone would make so much noise every 30 seconds lol.

So notification for eBay and PayPal sometimes I will get app notification first or the Gmail to those accounts first don't remember particular order . Bank of America I only device email alerts as my business bank , and have to say they are pretty quick when something needs to notify me

You are not alone with this...
Most of my apps that I allow notifications are fine, however, I have one that drives me crazy. I use a "Meross Smart WiFi Garage Door Opener", the device works perfectly and sends a notification to the phone on open or close. If I have just been using the phone or am using the phone the notification comes in instantly, but if I haven't been using the phone recently it can take up to 30 minutes tho get the notification, unless I open the phone, then it will come through...
I have gone through settings after settings and nothing makes any difference. I have shut off battery optimization totally on the phone, and nothing, put no apps to sleep, and no change. I don't know where else to look.

My note 10+ won’t give me instant notifications for gmail, Facebook, PayPal, eBay,... I’m sure there are more I’ve done everything.... can’t seem to resolve it... hoping the note 20 doesn’t have the same issue. I’ve even noticed that being on cellular reception sometimes I won’t get anything until I connect to wifi. I’ve set all my settings correctly and nothing helps. I have unlimited data so sometimes I don’t use wifi. I’ll notice my phone is super quiet for hours.... then I turn on wifi and ding ding ding

Yes, many of times and it makes no difference.

I'm wondering if it's a Samsung thing or an Android thing?
