S20 Ultra back to not receiving instant notifications again.

Well I have a list here of main issues of not getting notifications, if you still get this after doing those steps, probably a bug in recent update connection issues or need factory reset clear some old stuff out from previous updates that stick.

Reset
App preferences
Reset network
Reset settings

If using a launcher allow access to notifications

Device care make sure not put apps to sleep, any optimization settings

In each Individual apps are optimized for power saving take out or settings within the app settings

Phone not in medium power saving mode or adaptive, high performance or optimize should be fine, I'm mostly in high performance

VPN or ad guards, even app cleaners and antivirus

DND set

These are basic culprit for these things

I've tried them all with no luck. Think I'm going to hold off on the Note 20 for a while :-\

Yea, I'm kinda of stuck in this $1,600. phone for now. I'll be looking at the Note 20 and the new iPhones when they come out but I'm a little disappointed in Android/Samsung at the moment.

This is kind of weird. If I use one of my Gmail accounts with Edison Mail then the actual Gmail app will receive the notification right away.

Let me know what works, I'm affraid if you don't get hold of it, it might continue on the Note 20

I don’t know what the issue is. I’ve never had an android phone have this type of notification issue before. Is it a Samsung issue or Verizon issue somehow ?

Could be Andriod 10 issue also

What's Edison Mail? Is it IMAP, POP3, something else?

I believe it does both. I quit using it a while ago after I saw there were security issues with it.
It really is one of the best email apps out there though.

Works great on iOS and Android.

Have the Tab S6 and it's doing the same thing, no notifications until you unlock the screen. iPad notifications come in each & every time within seconds, Tab S6 dead to the world until you unlock the screen.

Can't believe there is no fix for this mess.

Might just pass on the Note 20 after all this latest crap.

I think this is an android doze issue. Happened to my last two Samsung phones. It’s why iPhone will always be my daily driver and note 2nd

Are you getting Gmail notifications if you use the Gmail app or some app besides Edison? I use Aqua Mail Pro and have no issues with email notifications for Gmail.

Aqua Mail Pro is my main email client and I always get instant notifications with it. I'm having problems where eBay, PayPal and other apps are not giving me instant notifications until I actually unlock the phone. The Gmail app it's self is one of these apps with no instant notifications. I'm trying everything under the sun to get my instant notifications to work again with no luck at all.
