S20 Ultra back to not receiving instant notifications again.

No I'm not kidding!

You mentioned you tried everything, im not sure what everything means to you . I've seen people say that before and not actually done everything , plus they are many settings to set power saving, optimization, global and per apps .

Thanks, but that was one of the first things I tried. I have gone through all of the settings, both global and per app, many times.

Ok , gotcha
Very strange some have to go to that extreme and others not .

Now, it is possible that a factory reset, and manually re-installing everything "might" have fixed my problem, but I am not ready to through that headache due to all of the customizations (Nova, Hex, fonts, icon packs, manually changing some icons, etc.etc (I realize that some apps have backup functions), so for the time being - this does work...

Yeah I dont blame you , possible it would work a factory reset but I dont think its worth it unless it really bothers you , plus you found a temp solution to bad it reset once you do a restart.

This is where I got the info from on XDA: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/guide-notification-fix-100-t3865551
Buried in there is a tasker profile for restarting this automatically, but when I try it says requires root, which I don't have, so I just created a windows batch file that does it for me. After the phone reboots automatically on Sunday morning at 8:30am (I'm sitting at the PC then anyway) I just plug the phone into the PC, and click the shortcut to the little batch file and done...

Yeah I'm aware of this , but didn't like it because you need root access and font have issues with mine .

You're kidding right?
I tried EVERYTHING possible since the S20 Ultra was released.... Something was getting dozed by android that should not have, killing Doze seems to have "fixed" it.

They should have an option to turn doze off in the settings.

UPDATE: I have had "Doze" disabled since 7/13/20, more than enough time to play with this, and since doing this my notifications have come in immediately, everytime, all of them... For me this is a success, would I have reached the same results with a factory reset and manually re-installing everything - I don't know, I really didn't want to go that route, but this works (again for me). There is a hit on the battery, but it really isn't great, and I still get a full day with plenty to spare, so no problem.

How did you disable it? Do you need a computer as I don’t have one lol

I believe Doze and Battery Optimization are synonymous. I believe it was called Doze mode when Marshmallow came out.
The adb commands go deeper they turn off optimization for all apps at all times including system apps. Optimization you can go into individual but some won't let you turn off

Some things you can without a computer , but that type of tweak only a computer.
Like you can disable bloatware with adb commands but other choices are download Disabler Pro to do that .
