How are people enjoying this device in 2025? There is a pretty decent deal right now where you can get an S22+ for around 300 bucks on Samsung's website.
People seem to have a VERY negative opinion towards the S22 series, especially the S22 Ultra in general. My wife has an S22 Ultra and has zero problems.

300 dollars for a 3-year-old device, though... when upon launch most new flagships run you about 400 to 500 dollars after trade-ins and discounts? Not sure that's a great deal, especially with how that line is about to lose update/support soon. That being said, it's also been YEARS since anything really new/exciting has changed on these phones, so you're not too far off from the current line in terms of user experience (sans AI stuff, anyway).

Also, with the next line of slims and foldables around the corner, you may get a much better deal once they are released (on current gen phones and older ones, too).

Yeah, if I want to pay 700 dollars for a device, which I really don't lol

And since when is it going to lose support? I don't care about software updates. When they released the S22 series, did it come with 5 years of updates, which would include security patches?
Because if that's the case, it will get support for another nearly two years. That's really not "soon."

If I'm understanding correctly the articles listed below, looks like the S22 will get Android 16 and One UI 8, and be eligible for security updates.

As SpookDroid mentions, newer devices will be eligible for future Android, One UI, and security updates beyond what the S22 series will receive.

Given that so much personal information is our mobile phones, security updates are critical to have regardless which Galaxy series generation or model makes sense for you.
