I just got the Galaxy S22. All my files & apps were transfered over from a Note 9. The player on my S22 does not recognize the Note 9 ring tone files. What can I do to get them to work on my S22?

Welcome to Android Central! What directory were the ringtone files transferred to? Is it /Ringtones?

Yes, they are in the same folder along with all the Galaxy ring tones & a few custom ones I just down loaded which work fine. Most of them are from way back, downloaded from my Note 4, & a few from my IPhone 6, 1 of them as far back as my IPhone 3.

if they are .wav files, they won't work. beginning with the S21 family, .wav files no longer play on Samsung devices, absent a 3rd party app, like VLC. (which sucks, btw)

I looked in my audio files folder & brought up the details. They are .wma files, or that's what it reads at the end of the titles.
