S22 Ultra Owner, Excited for Fold 4

For another perspective...I have been wanting to get a FOLD but so far is a big disappointment to me.
First, it is small enough and the aspect ratio also creates this issue where movies actually look bigger on the S22 Ultra.
On top of that, you have to deal with the horrible crease which is made worse by the super reflective plastic screen.
Then of course, you got less powerful camera setup and no place for the SPen.
Too many fails in my book so I am still waiting for the Folds to get "there".
Did you get one?

I will be having S22 ultra and Fold 4
Best of both world's.

That's a lot of phone to maintain and carry. :-)

I just made the move from S21 Ultra to Fold 4. It is going to take getting used to for sure.... right now I am still just getting though re-configuring all my accounts. Smart switch was not as complete as I would have hoped.

My issue with Smart Switch was toward Good Lock… everything else transferred successfully.

I always start a new phone fresh....
My contacts are on Google so no issue...
Yest doc or photo which only are important I transfer to new phone..yest I leave on the laptop or external hard drive

I normally do that. But I wanted to try Smart Switch… my contacts are synced on Google. I decided to transfer my photos/videos via a external SSD.

I downloaded plenty of apps/icons (those transferred successfully).. didn’t want to go through the hassle of going through the Play Store and finding them.

Got mine on Thursday. I have everything set up, now just trying to adjust. I'm definitely gonna need every minute of the return window to decide, very much on the fence at this point. I'll have to dig deeper with this for sure lol

What are your initial impressions? And what is causing you to be on the fence?

I would spent hours setting up the phone. LOL, Smart Switch worked well. You still using old thinking when Android was awful OS.

I know it's the "honeymoon stage", but I'm loving my ZFold4 so far. No regrets trading in my s22u. Like I stated previously, if I don't like it, I can trade it in for the 23u in a few months, or use the P7pro which I plan to trade in my P6pro in October-ish.

*On a side note, my 2 teenage girls (iPhone robots) say I embarrassed them when I opened my fold to record their volleyball game the other day. Now it's even more reason to keep this phone...

LMAO.

For me I think it's probably more of a use case situation. I find myself used to the convenience of immediate use after unlocking, not requiring 2 hands. When I'm on the go, at work, or just not feeling like having to use 2 hands, I'm primarily using the front, smaller screen. I know the obvious option is right there, to unfold and have a mini tablet display in all it's glory, but I'm finding myself using the front smaller screen far more often, like 80%. And in comparison to the S22 Ultra it's not as enjoyable. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty awesome when I AM using the full inner display. I'm simply not using it very often unless I'm sitting at home or out at a bar, etc. And less unfolded time = less pen time, even with a case that holds it, in comparison to the pen removal/insertion with the 22. Until I can find a way to lean more on the "unfolded" experience I'm still favoring the S22 Ultra.
