For those interested in some key observations about the S23 Ultra vs Note 20 Ultra from a day one buyer of both phones.
- Fingerprint sensor much improved on S23U. Much more accurate to unlock on first try
- Battery life much better on S23U
- Camera improved a lot, but still blur with only a little movement (mostly inside photos, haven't taken much action outdoor shots yet)
- Speakers sound better
- Haven't played with the S pen much yet, but didn't see a big difference in accuracy
- Boot speed faster
- Selfie camera much improved
- Zoom on video better
- Night pix much better
- WiFi has had some intermittent issues (never had on my old Note 20 Ultra). I've read there's an update coming to fix that
- Long press on picture in Gallery to 'cut' it out of the background is cool (I think exclusive to S23 series for now)
- No hiccups with multi tasking
- Con: No SD card slot (I had a 256gb card in my Note) so may worry about storage some time in the future as I put a lot of files on my phone (1TB version of S23U was my preference but it was only available through Samsung and trade in value was terrible so I got the 512gb version.
Overall happy with my upgrade, especially after Verizon gave me a $1000 trade in for Note20.
