I recently came back to the 23 ultra from the fold 5 and if the trade in values are good enough I'll be going with the upgrade to the 24. Interested to see the Samsung exclusive colors once pre order goes live.

there's only a $50 reservation credit on Samsung.com today.

the earliest pre-order date is January 17th.

is it dumb to reserve today and only get $50 credit? that's not even enough to get a new set of wireless samsung earbuds!! in the past years, i'd always get a new set of wireless earbuds AND a few extra minor accessories like a fast high wattage/amperage charger!

don't know if it's smart or not to reserve today? confusing. why would Samsung punish enthusiast folks like us, right?

50 bucks is 50 bucks, there's no downside so it's kind of hard to see it as punishment.

In the past, this $50 reservation credit was in addition to whatever the pre-sale deals are. I think they do this to get an idea of the interest level in the phone.

Looking at the fine print, it looks like the deals are going to be: 1. Free upgrade to double storage, 2. $25/$50/$100 credit depending on model, 3. Trade in credit (probably starting at $700 for last years models I'm guessing)
And the $50 preregistration.

They said it was in addition to that pre-order credit. So for the ultra you would get $50 of reservation credit and $100 of pre-order credit for a total of $150.

I wish the reservation & the other credits could be used towards the pre-ordered phone. I remember at one time it was. I don't really need any more accessories. But I know the credit is useful to other people.

I've reserved and started really looking to see what it should offer. So far, I'm excited about the flat screen and the AI camera/video possibilities. Live translation looks interesting also. I'm liking that grey titanium. Looks similar to those other people's natural titanium. Nice...

I should skip preorder because the prices and trade in values changed for the better pretty quickly last year. It's not like I'm in dire need, but yall probably gonna suck me in on Jan 17!

I agree!!! Early rumors were the Ultra price wouldn't change. The last few articles I've read are saying it's increasing.

with so many knowledgeable guys here, what do you all think it will cost, out of pocket, to trade in an S23 Ultra in perfect condition for an S24 Ultra please?

i'm guessing that that trade in value for trading in an S23 Ultra must be somewhere in the $700 to $900 range, right? does that mean that ultimately, it will be around $700 out of pocket for me to get the S24 Ultra with me sending in my S23 Ultra for trading in?

Last year we got a measly $350 for trading in our S22 Ultras at launch. The year before it was closer to $600. Hoping they give us at least $500 trade-in value for the S23 Ultras. Based on the $1020 savings they are promoting on the pre-reservation page, it looks like the free storage upgrade they will consider approximately a $400 "savings", which means we should be getting around $600 trade-in value for our S23 Ultra phones. That's my guess anyway based on the current information we have.

The leaks have been about Europe and Korea, so unless you're European or Korean I wouldn't pay any attention to them. Even if you are European or Korean, I would take them with a heavy dose of salt.

I'm excited for the S24 Ultra, I haven't decided if I'm gonna trade in my 23U or give it to my husband and sell his 22U.

I went ahead and reserved can't wait for the 17th to see the exciting things for this new phone.

I've only had my S23 ultra for a few months so I have no need or desire to upgrade. It looks like the trade in will be up to $750 off along with the $50 reserve. So possibly $800 off. But the pricing will reportedly be higher this year. I have to wait until 2025 until I pay off my device debt. I'm fully expecting to give my S23 ultra a full two years which will be the longest I've owned one single device. I purposely got the 512gb knowing this beforehand and planning to have it for a long time.
