S25 Ultra – Visible dent near fingerprint reader under light, normal or defect?

Hey everyone,

I recently got the Galaxy S25 Ultra and I’ve been really happy with it overall. However, I noticed something odd and wanted to see if others have experienced the same thing.

When the screen is on, the fingerprint reader area looks totally normal—the reader outline isn’t visible at all. But when I shine a light (like a flashlight or phone torch) directly on the screen, there’s a small dent-like mark on the top-left side of where the fingerprint reader is located. It’s only visible when the light hits it at the right angle.

Out of curiosity, I checked a display unit at a nearby store and noticed it had a similar (but less noticeable) dent, though it was on the right side of the fingerprint area instead.

So now I’m wondering:

  1. Is that dent a normal part of the under-display fingerprint hardware?
  2. Is it something I should be concerned about, or possibly a defect?
  3. Does your S25 Ultra show anything similar under direct light?
Would really appreciate any input or comparisons from other S25 Ultra users. Just want to make sure mine’s not a one-off issue before considering a return or exchange.

Had to scroll to the first picture to figure out what i was looking at besides your flash.

Can't say if it's normal since I have a screen protector and it wacky AF.

As far as your picture, if you can't feel it, in would warranty it. Gorilla glass shouldn't have any bubbles and would immensely compromise the rating. That could be one drop away from a crack due to a weakspot.

Edit: Through the advances in science and technology I can confirm mine does not have that spot.

I saw two different devices both seemed to have that spot, hence im confused now! Did you check it without a screen protector?

No I'm not removing my screen protector just to check. If it was there I'd see it under UV light with it on.

Take a look a retailer or carrier display model.
