S3 Bluetooth Does NOT Auto Connect to Car

It just keeps getting stranger. Today the bluetooth music player automatically pairs up, but the phone part of the GS 3 does not. Sometimes if I toggle bluetooth off and on that fixes things, but if I stop and reatart the car, it happens all over again. Has anyone else experienced this weird disconnect between the phone and music player?

I have an aftermarket Sony system in my car that used to work flawlessly with my old dumb phone.

My Sprint version connects perfectly everytime with Ford SYNC. Maybe an issue with the vehicle? Any one have problems connecting to SYNC?

I am on Verizon and had no problem connecting my S3 to my 2010 Fusion SYNC system. I was expecting to have some problems since I had some issues when my Fascinate received the Froyo update. (My problems with my Fascinate were resolved by the wonderful people who post to this Forum!)

I have a 2012 subaru legacy. Has built in BT. Well my S3 on verizon never autoconnects to my car. I always have to toggle it on and off to get it to connect. Like some other users I experience sometimes where only media or only phone connects and have to go through the process again to get everything to connect. I hope there is a good fix for this. My iphone used to connect automatically no issues once I turned on my car.

I had a Droid X and every time I enter into my car, bluetooth automatically connects.

Now I have a S3. I was able to pair it to my car. But I haven't been able to get it to automatically connects to my car just like my Droid X did. Bluetooth is always on on my S3.

In order to connect to my car, I have to toggle off bluetooth on my phone, then toggle it back on again, then go to bluetooth setting and manually connect. Once I shut off the car, I have to repeat this process again.

This is incredibly annoying. :(

I have the Verizon version of the S3 if that makes any difference.

Does anyone know how to get it automatically reconnect? Am I the only one here having this problem?

I have same problem with my 2010 Nissan Maxima with no Navigation to pair with Samsung Galaxy S3, Verizonwireless, Model SCHi535.
I can download the contact list but it would not stay in car phonebook list. When I pair them first the contact list listed on the car display when I ask to list contacts but the list disapears if I turn off the car ignition. I tried many different combinations I can think of to solve the problem but no sucssess.

I called Nissan customer support but no help. Nissan tech support guy said it is phone download problem. The Nissan Maxima w/o navigation uses the phone contact list of the phone when it started. The phonebook list instead of its own memory therefore everytime when you start the car the phonebook should be downloaded from the phone if the bluetooth is on for both car and phone.
So I called Samsung tech support Ulli (she) said Samsung does not guarantee for every bluetooth devices and no such a problem listed she can find in her list of update and she issued case # 2114411855 if anyone want to use case number for same problem.

Please post anyone out there may have better information to solve this problem. It seems the car and phone manufacturer ignoring the problem.

All of a sudden, after flashing the 15 Toggle Mod, it autoconnects. Odd, but in a good way.

Hi FishMeet Fish,
Would you please list step by step for us how you fixed your problem?
I think I have same problem as you had but no solution at the moment.
Thank you.

I solved my problem. See if you can do the same to fix your problem.

1) deleted paired devices on Nissan Connect
2) paired again and selected "no" and "never ask again" for question to download contacts and calllog
3) removed battery from S3, reinserted battery and turn on the S3
4) entered my Nissan Qashqai, turned on iginition, waited until Nissan Connect starts up
5) turned on my bluetooth on S3 and...it connected automatically.

Turn off and on a couple of times to see if they connect again and it worked everytime.

Good luck !
Wojciech

Thank you very much for solving my problem with my 2010 Nissan Maxima phonebook.
Now the phonebook of Samsung Galaxy S3 stays in my car as cotact list.by following your instruction.

I have a Verizon siii and it connects automatically to my 2012 Kia forte koup. No problems at all, and it seems like it connects a little faster than my iPhone 4 used to.

I have Verizon and mine does not auto connect either. Pathetic and unacceptable.

My RAZR Maxx worked flawlessly.

I didn't get the update from att until a couple of days ago. Now my connection is perfect. There must have been a blue tooth tweak in there.

Another thing I hate is that it doesn't show the album art or the song name when bluetooth is streaming. My razr maxx showed it every time.

I am having the same problem with my new Galaxy S3 T-Mobile not able to auto connect when i turn my truck on. I never had this problem with my iPhone, my Galaxy Nexus (2 of them) and a Galaxy S3 from Sprint (that turned back to Sprint) now again my new Galaxy S3 from t-Mobile does not auto connect to my Alpine Stereo. Help

Mine seems a bit random. Sometimes it connects, sometimes I have to turn BT off and on (on the phone) before it connects.

Car is a BMW 3 series 2009. Also happens on a 2012 model (which I have borrowed for a week).

I'm going to get an NFC tag which will toggle it off and on when I get in the car. That should sort it out.

I have a D4, ics, will not autoconnect to car bluetooth, has to be done manually, same as users above. I called Verizon, no love there, they suggested Jeep Wrangler people might help...My D3 autoconnected every time, never had to touch my phone to get BT through my Alpine stereo handsfree thing.

I have a 2010 Toyo Prius with the nav/BT system. My Sprint S3 connects the phone automatically, which works fine, but not BT audio. After connecting the device, a few seconds later it says "Cannot connect portable player." I have BT on all the time. I have deleted and repaired the phone a couple of times thinking it wasn't pairing the phone.

I had no problems whatsoever with my previous Evo. I've read all the posts but there doesn't seem to be a consensus on what the problem or solution is.

Im clueless about my new tmoblie gs3 and was wondering if there was any way to connect my phone to my '98 volvo without installing a new sound system? Thanks

Same problem, had a droid x no problem. Now gs3 , cannot hook to my 13 Honda or 11 ford truck, both newer vehicles. I have Verizon.

Nissan does NOT support the Samsung Galaxy S3. i have talked with the Nissan rep and he doesnt know when they will. Nissan users can go to a nissan site for bluetooth and lists which phones they support, dont suport the IP5 either. Please call your Nissan dealer as that is where we have to put the pressure.
