S4 camera won't focus

[AC Question]

Trying to use S4 to take close up photos for EBAY using natural light. Almost impossible to focus. If I move back when I crop on Ebay the resolution is not good enough. I hate using flash because I get a glare, colors aren't true. I hold it stable on a surface. The focus square goes in and beeps but final photo is not the crisp photo. Is there an app for Micro? I just traded in my iphone and this was never an issue. Noticing my portrait photos aren't crisp either.... Very big disappointment as photos are a huge part of my phone use.

Welcome to Android Central! Is the phone brand new to you? Did it come with a thin protective plastic film over the camera lens? If so, make sure you take it off.
