S4 says it is paired with my gear fit, Gear fit says failed to pair. What is going on?

S4 says it is paired with my gear fit, Gear fit says failed to pair.

Have 'chatted' with Samsung Tech who could only say send it back.Have done factory reset of phone. Am on version 4.3 closed all other apps, have uninstalled and reinstalled the gear manager app. Before I throw it through the window, can anyone help

Generally with gears and accessories the only way to fix something is to replace it.
You've downloaded the gear fit manager app? The normal one could work too but I use the fit one. Has the device ever worked? Also are you able to upgrade to 4.4, cause that's what my S3 was on when I first got the Gear Fit (however when I connected a gear s to test it my phone was 4.3 and requested an upgrade, but that could be because the gear s is a newer model)
