S5 Lag Experience Question from a former iPhone User....

I disabled most of the bloatware from Samsung and AT&T...including TouchWiz (I use Apex Launcher). I also went into the Developer settings and disabled Animations. After doing all this it really made my phone snappier. If you do what I did... I can guarantee your device will run quicker.

THIS, cracks me up every time I see it. ....
I bought a samsung and had to disable the entire phone to make it work properly.
But hey, at least I'm cool because I bought "the next laggy thing"
I will never understand it I guess...

No one should EVER have to download some alternate 3rd party texting app or disable transitions, turn off touchwiz.
If the phone doesn't work out of the box without issues, Take It Back.
If people keep buying their phones with awesome hardware but complete garbage software, samsung will never fix it. Why should they, you will buy it no matter if it works or not.
This is why I am not buying their products until they do fix it. I'll speak with my wallet.

Ah yes... someone who doesn't have an S5 hanging around an S5 forum just to trash it. Attitude explains the forum warnings he has.

I had the S5 for 4 days and took it back. I hated it and the laggy new touchwiz. It wasn't worth adding to my sig. I took my own advice and returned the item.
Not giving samsung more money until they fix their software.

Sorry you had a bad experience with the S5. Not everyone is having a lag issue. I don't have any lag issue on my phone at all. Zero. The problem I see with some people is not understanding the Linux system and using app killers, ram and cache killers, anti virus, battery savers etc etc. All that slows down your phone. My phone amazes my friends, some android users and some iphone users.

This section might be hidden on some phones, but it?s very easy to access. On many phones, you just have to open a certain page in the settings and tap a button seven times. Use Google to figure out how to enable Developer options on your phone if it?s currently hidden (for example, search ?enable developer options HTC One?).

Once you have access to Developer options, simply scroll until you find the following three settings, which may be located on the main screen or within an ?Advanced? subsection:

Window animation scale

Transition animation scale

Animator animation scale

Tapping each of the three aforementioned settings will reveal that it?s set to ?1x? by default. If you want to speed up your phone or tablet dramatically, simply change each of those three settings to ?.5x? ? that?s it.
