S5 spazzing and doing anything

Recently my s5 has been having its glitch and I mean major glitch moments. It will close out the app I opened, go to a black screen for a min. I hit power or home button and it takes a few for it to respond. It goes right to a lock screen asking for PIN. Then goes to my wallpaper but no app icons. I have to pull battery cause I can't control the phone anymore. This is the second time in a month. I have turned phone off, wiped cache partition. No luck. It happens about a week after restarting. Virus or 5.0 issue?

Obvious, but make sure your screen is clean, mine becomes self-aware if it gets a bit grubby, or if rain hits it

Haven't tried safe mode yet. My screen is clean as well.
