Yes, I removed it ... But actually, there is/was a Hole cutout for the actual lens. So it wasn't OVER the lens itself.

Thanks for the detailed update. makes perfect sense. I've set mine to 4:3 and will remember to set to the 16:9 for Landscape & further away pics ..

Never seen that on my phone. Seems like an issue. Hopefully they'll replace. Every shot I have taken comes out really good!

Which one there are two options with 4:3 ?
There is a 12m (4:3) OR 8m (4:3)

both. this phone always took great pictures, never the distorted ones that the OP is showing.
