S6 Car/Driving Mode

I recently got a Galaxy S6 as Verizon forced me to upgrade, but have yet to activate it. My old phone is a Droid Mini, and one of my favorite features has been Motorola Assist, as it will announce calls and read text messages aloud when it detects I'm driving. My main concern about switching to the S6 is losing this function.

Is there a similar application on the S6, one that will speak to me while I'm driving? And if not, is it possible to download Assist on a Samsung device, or is there a good third party app available?

I don't know if it matters, but my car does not have Bluetooth capabilities. I usually just plug my phone into the headphone jack and it will speak to me over the car's speaker system.

I wondered this same thing. However, my issue was the S4 did that function via Svoice. The S6 does not. Hiwever, you can download an app called Text Message Reader from play store that will read aloud your texts. You can't reply with it though, but you can set it up to send an automatic reply text when a text comes in.

You can use "ok Google" to read messages to you & allow you to reply. Not sure on voice announcing caller id. Might need outside app

I have an app called Commandr for Google Now that allows me to use voice commands, and read out texts and such. It is a third party app but I have been pleased with it.

Car Mode is found at the Galaxy store! Works very well actually. I connect it to my car speakers and use it all the time to make calls, send and receive texts, and navigate.
It even stops the music to notify me of texts and calls. And it's free of course.
