S6 Common issues /problems

My Galaxy S6 Edge started freezing overnight about the second or third week that I owned it. I'd wake up and the edge clock display would be frozen at the time at which it froze. It was completely non-responsive. Next to the edge clock display it would show a good battery charge (say 90% for example one night). I'd have to then do the special buttons push to toggle the battery and re-power it back on. I'd then notice that the battery percent was way low and looking at the batter usage history would show that something had the CPU pegged at 100%.

This would happen at random times in the middle of the night on random days. About 3 to 4 times a week.

I did a factory reset and stopped all updates and only allowed certain apps to be downloaded (like Netflix). Still happened.

I needed my phone to be accessible in the middle of the night for work purposes.

So I took my S6 Edge back to T-Mobile and talked them into allowing me to switch to the HTC M9. And I'm VERY happy about that switch. The HTC is a reliable phone. I know that the Edge has an extremely good camera and display. But I'm sorry. Anything which only works when IT wants to work is just a complete waste in my book. I know I could have risked getting another sent to me from the factory. But I'd seen quite a few other complaints of various different types of display freezes and such.

Someone accidentally sneezed "ship it!" and they THREW this product out for production before it was half baked.

So, I have a nice free Galaxy S6 Edge tech21 case if anyone wants it for free. Evo Frame Wallet. Reply here if interested.

My S6 Edge kept freezing over night. Completely non-responsive. I'd have to do the multi-button power reset to get it back up. It would reveal that the CPU usage had been pegged at 100% until the point of reset. So the CPU was stuck in an infinite loop and eating up the batter life FAST. Even after factory reset and only installing very limited apps, and disabling updates. I switched to the HTC M9 which is much more reliable. I see it's now 2 months since your post. Hope whatever you decided it went well.
(Sorry for redundant message...same info as above. Could not see how to delete it.)

Was wondering at what % do you guys put your S6 edge on the charger and how often do you charge it through out the day? Also how many times, if any, do you deplet the battery completely?

I really don't keep track. I pretty much just charge my phones whenever it's convenient (next too by bed at night, anytime I'm driving, if I'm streaming at my desk at work) and whenever it's low (probably less than 15 to 20 percent).

So since this past update that gave my phone some of the same features as the edge +, my phone has been randomly restarting itself. I'm with sprint. Has anyone else had this problem? I took it to best buy today and they reinstalled that update.

I bought the S6 edge plus 9 days ago and it restarts itself about 30 times a day. Some Verizon employees say its a known issue with Google Play Services, other say they haven't heard of it.

I can't find much info for it on the web so I'm pretty skeptical. One "fix" I found in another thread was to turn your screen display mode to any other setting than Adaptive (default). I tried it half an hour ago, we'll see if it works at all. Still ridiculous that know one knows a thing about how to fix it, and if it is Indeed Google Play Services causing the problem, they sure aren't talking about it. maybe I should 'Bing' it. Lol.

They wanted to give me a "Certified Like New" replacement for a 4 day old phone, which is a bunch of BS, totally unacceptable. I talked with the manager and I'm going to do a DOA (in store replacement) a day before my 14 days is up. They say all the S6 Edge+ phones shipped with this new update that is causing problems. So they said they could give me a new phone, but don't know if it would be any different.

See my above post.

I've noticed the heat problem as well. I do have a case for mine and recently purchased the wifi cordless charger (which for me is a God send). First time I tried with the case on. The phone started to get really hot. Took the case of and placed phone on the charger and much better. Once in a while it will start to heat up and that is when I turn it off and let it charge, cools right down.

I put mine on the charger any where from 40% on down and depending I have to charge at least twice a day. Understand I'm an old and retired don't use the phone that much.

Led notification reset

I searched so if this is posted sorry. But odd to me is I want and set led notification to ON (for missed txt and calls)
However if you restart your S 6 edge it resets that setting to OFF?
WHY dont most of us want that ON?

I don't know, but in a separate thread we just established that wifi options are different between cell companies. Maybe this is similar. http://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=596840
How do I forget saved WiFi networks when they are out of range on Samsung devices?

Hi..I have been using samsung galaxy s6 edge for over a month now..while playing music in the background the music freezes for a second when i open an application on the phone.Even when i open the dialler, there is that freeze or pause for a second after which it resumes playing by itself.Interesting i found that when my phone is on silent mode,i dont experience this..i can open apps without any pause in music..ie it is seen only when the phone is in general mode..Is it a RAM or processor problem or software?
anyone experiencing this?
