S6 edge+ battery drain.

Phone battery stats right now currently connected to wifi . Discharging normal..

So they battery drain only happens when using data. Is this common thing? I believe it's down to signal strength making the battery use more juice?

If so how or can this be prevented? From the pic below the rate seems normal so not so sure the battery is faulty? Cheers.

Can't believe how much longer the battery is lasting on wifi vs Data. All though is that normal for data to drain the batteries on these phones..

Yeah, mobile data will hit your battery harder than WiFi and there's not much you can do about that. For example, my average is about 8+ hours SoT while on WiFi versus 6 hours on mobile data. That's the way it is.

In your case the difference is even bigger because your cell signal seems to be very poor.

Very often I stay in places where cell signal is pretty bad and my SoT average drops by half or even more when I use the phone a lot in those conditions. Having a dual SIM phone helps me to switch between carriers depending on where I am, but the only real 'fix' is switching mobile data off and only connecting from time to time. Or keeping a charger or power bank always at hand. :)

Yep certainly thinking of the power bank whilst out and about. The signal where i libe has been proven very bad strength. But never known it to drain a phone battery before. Only on this Edge Plus.

The time it lasted on Wifi makes me believe the battery is in good health. But if poss would like to somehow have the battery checked or tested to double check.

I guess theirs nothing much i can do, If it's not ab normal than i haven't got much to worry about as such
