S6 Edge owners...10 days in would you buy it again?

Would definitely by it again no questions. Best phone Samsung as put out to date!

I would buy it again as well. I prefer the edge over the regular because it grips better and looks better (I don't use cases on my phones). The S6 looks almost like every other phone but the dual edge screen just looks awesome. I don't even care if there isn't much use to the edge yet. I just love the way the phone look. Sleek and sexy with those curves. I also like how those curves feel when I swipe the screen. Battery hasn't been an issue for me.

I have a gold S6 64GB edge and a Black Saphire 32 GB S6. To me, the S6 feels a lot better in my hand. Don't get me wrong, I love the edge but I might go with a 64 GB S6 if I had to do it again.

The S6 felt a lot better in my hand as well. Can't describe it, but the Edge while more stylish just doesn't feel right in the hand.

Even though this was an impulse buy for me, I'd definitely buy it again. I hate having a case on it because it just looks soooo good :)

It's interesting that some people are saying how it doesn't feel as comfortable in their hands. My wife and I both have the edges and last night we both had commented that how this phone feels the best as far as holding it as any phone that we have had.
We both love this phone and haven't had any issues.

You aren't alone, I like the feel of the edge better too.

Honestly I think the s6 is flawed. I'm a power user generally, and this phone should be capable of typing fast but it's having issues registering touches... my screen pauses occasionally when I need it to friggen do what it's supposed to.. it's annoying as it makes it difficult to type.. this is my 2nd replacement s6 edge. The screen orientation failed to recognize how the phone was being held randomly one day lol..

**UPDATE**

Thanks erasat for bringing this post back to my attention, forgot to update. And me saying the phone is flawed was a bit extreme hehe.

Skype was the culprit, Samsung now knows and I have forwarded the issue to the developer.

I just saw that you found your issue, so for the benefit of others that can come here for references and see your post, please edit it and explain that it was the Skype App causing your issue.

Thanks.

Short answer: Yes.

I'm a Product Ambassador with Sprint so I have the incredible opportunity to work with a bunch of different devices as they launch and this one is really surprising me. Over the last two years my favorite line of phones has been Samsung's Galaxy Note series, 3 and 4, and I was a little apprehensive about moving to the S6 Edge. What I've typically done with my last few demo devices is I'll keep them active during the demo period then I will go back to the Note 3/4. I bring this up only because I'm not going back to my Note 4, the S6 Edge has won me over. Even though there isn't a ton of features with the Edge screen the mere style of it and stunning display quality makes it worth while. Outside of losing some of the stock widgets I've become accustom to leveraging I've had zero problems with this device. Build quality is excellent, usability is excellent, speaker quality is good, and I like the trimmed down version of Samsung's Touchwiz UI. I like other didn't want to leverage a case but I don't feel comfortable without one with the front and back glass design. Seems like one accidental drop could potentially be fatal. In all a highly recommended device, nice work Sammy.

No. I would buy the regular S6 instead. I don't feel strongly enough to return it and start over setting everything up but after 10 days I don't see any real value to the Edge other than looks and I'm guessing no one will "ooh and ahh" over it 6 months from now. There are way less case and screen protector options, nothing outside of a few marginally useful party tricks Samsung offers take advantage of the edge anyway and every once in a while I notice text distortion along the edges and a bit of glare where it curves.

Floridadomer - we must have very different hands because while I wouldn't go so far as to say it's uncomfortable, I can't even imagine how anyone would think its more comfortable than a regular S6 or an HTC. I just turned my HTC M8 in and while it's inferior in alot of ways, the hand feel of the HTC was about 100x better. The flat back and distinct line of the bezel do not feel great in the hand to me. A good case is a must.

That said, if your current phone is at least 2 years old you'll probably love the Edge and it sure does look cool. If you're trading in a phone from last year, it's very obvious they're running out of things to do with these devices. Any changes from here on out are little more than incremental. I had the M8 and S6 Edge side by side all week and the differences are more HTC vs Samsung than the tech.

I would get it again.

Regarding feel in hands, I feel it's a comfort vs security thing for me. The distinct line and glass flat back makes me feel more secure in holding it (e.g. not dropping it) than any other phone with or without a case. And I don't want a case on this thing.

Is the curved screen worth it? No. Do I care? No. It's sexy...I told my iPhone buddy that I'm overcompensating against his years of "apple's design is just the best, I can't explain it, but ya know, it's just amazing the way it looks, every detail, it's like the BMW of phones, so refined man, sooo refined". And that's quite alright with me....

But I agree, it will most come down to stock android vs add on enhancements from the different manufacturers.

Whew...if I had answered this yesterday at this time I would have said 100% yes.....LOVE my 64 s6 edge (would have loved a 128 more but they didnt have any in the store :( ) ...anywho... last night while getting into my car on the passenger side the phone slipped out of my pocket and fell 18 inch's (hubby measured it )..and the screen shattered ...I've NEVER dropped a phone...scratched a screen any of that before..I was and am crushed...11 day old phone ...craptastic screen... we went immediately to the shop we purchased it from and warranty replacement will be 175 bucks and we might end up with a refurbished phone (hoping not as its NEW..ugh)...anywho...I still love my phone but I think I may have gone with the standard s6..after seeing what happend with mine thats the route my husband has chosen to take with his new phone ..especially since after a year his phones usually look pretty ragged and mine are usually near new looking since I'm So cautious...:( I'm devastated that its my first drop...ever..and it wasnt far at all..and yeah...trashed :(

Only issue with the phone itself I've had is the battery and they seemed to have fixed that with the Push update. I would probably buy it again but simply because I don't think there are any other options out there for me right now.

HTC M9 doesn't have a good enough camera
LG G4 Way too big
Xperia Z4 barely even an upgrade from the Z3

My only other option would have been to wait until September for the new iPhone but I really don't want to go back to Apple.

Without a shadow of a doubt. I have received so many compliments on this device its not even funny. It's sexy, classy, beautifully put together and overall BOSS!! Oh and the platinum gold is just sick. Great job Sammy.

I came from an iPhone 6, and while it is definitely an improvement from the S5, I'm not 100% convinced yet. It does feel like much more of a premium device, but it has its flaws. Battery life is OK, but my iPhone did manage to run longer (and cooler). I also HATE the software on the phone. It's colorful and appealing in some respects, but overall it's somewhat prohibitive and clunky. There's also a TON of things running that are generally just bloat. Also, the spell check isn't the most intuitive. I could type on my iPhone with one hand without looking and it got my sentences right 9/10 times, the S6 Edge does it maybe half the time. However, the device does feel good in hand and charges super fast. The wireless charging base is easy to use and works all the time.

All in all I like the device, but don't love it.

After disabling all the verizon bloat. And other apps my battery is now better then my iPhone 6. The feel and design are much better than the iPhone in my opinion. I would not give up the edge for the regular 6. I went to verizon a few times to play with the phones. Each time I came away with the edge is more substantial for me then the s6.

Coming from a iPhone 6 and s5 the edge seems more of a upgrade due to it's different design and premium finish. And for me the night clock is fantastic.

Hope everyone enjoys their choice. Both are great choices.

Are you kidding???? YES I'd buy this phone again in a heartbeat! The few issues I had was ME not knowing how to figure things out! This is the Ferrari of smartphones!!!!!

Yes! I moved from an iphone 5s to the Gold edge 64mb version. Hubby ended up upgrading his Samsung S4 Active the following day, to an Edge in the zblsvk Sapphire. We both love them. I "suspended" a lot of the AT&T crap ware that I don't use, and that helped the battery drain somewhat. I'm sold on them. I wish the edge had more usability, like the edge on the Note 4. If the note was a little smaller, I'd have purchased it. Can't hold and use it one handed in my petite hands. Lol
Using a screen protector and have no issues with fingerprints.
Also have a clear casemate case with gold glitter in it that truly makes it the phone stand out! Pure class!!!
