Has anyone with an S6 Edge Plus been able to hands-on compare with the new S8 Plus, in terms of how it feels in-hand?

Thank you.

The s6 edge plus is one of my favorite phones ever, but the one thing it isn't is comfortable in the hand. The s8+ is far more comfortable to hold due to the curves on the back and sides of device. Even the s7 edge improved substantially in this area over the 6+ and the S8 is more comfortable than the s7edge.

the only question is reaching the fingerprint sensor and top of screen. If that is a concern, just go with the s8, even it has a larger screen the the s6edge+.

Let's not forget most of us will use a case and this will definitely change size and handling

I just went to Best Buy yesterday to compare my S6E+ to the S8+. Without a case, the S8 and + feel much better in the hand. With a case, I expect this to be a moot point. But the S8s feel so good in the hand it makes me not want to use a case....

Probably still will though.

One thing that's going to take getting used to is the soft navigation buttons. A lot of times they disappear and I wasn't able to figure out the best way to get them back while I was playing with it in the store. I tried swiping up but you have to be precise with where you swipe otherwise the phone thinks you're trying to scroll the screen. It's definitely more fiddly than physical buttons which you can directly hit at any time. I wonder if there's a way to keep the soft nav buttons visible all the time.

I have the S6E+. I've been to BB twice this week to check out the S8+. I concur with most of the comments in this thread. The soft navigation buttons were not a problem for me. They are as responsive as my current phone. From what I've read, we'll be able to switch the on screen button layout and control the duration the buttons stay lit.

The fingerprint scanner is in the same location as the heart rate monitor on my S6E+. I've spent the last couple days using the HRM as a faux FP scanner. I think I'll enjoy the rear FP more than the current front button. Time will tell.
