S6 Edge screen lock PIN

Today I had problems with my S6 Edge not recognizing or asking for my fingerprint. I used Google to unlock my phone. I then put my phone to screen lock type PIN. I used a PIN that I've been using for years. The phone keeps telling me wrong PIN. I am using Samsung's find my phone site to lock with a passcode, which helps get my phone open. Now I need to get rid of screen lock type PIN, but it keeps asking for PIN. How do I get it turned off without knowing passcode. Also, the clear credentials is colored grey, so I'm not able to clear.
