Update your Android System Webview. 54.0.2840.61. Turned the battery back to normal after the Sept update. (I think the radio is still a problem but I'm up to 12 hrs from 4, again)

Hello all

New to the forum. I have had this issue myself and I have read on plenty of android sites that in the last few days a lot of s7 users are having major battery issues.

I found the cause to be the "oculus and Samsung VR" apps, once removed my phone stopped overheating and battery returned to normal.

I also rebooted my phone, held power+home+volume up and noticed an update actually failed, and reinstalled the update.

how did you reinstal the update. My s7 pushed an update and I did the update. During the update process it reached 30% and then restarted and began the update again from scratch. After I had the update android system drain is HUGE and cpu usage from that is almost constant. Could it be an failed first update the isue? And if so...how to solve it?

Hi i just wanted to know if i download this app will i get better battery life if so what is recommended to disable?

Don't know if it'll make it better, since I don't use it. But my battery life is crazy good w/o disabling lots of stuff, so I'm not going to mess with it.

I haven't been able to tell much difference to be honest. Most ppl swear by it and others are on the fence

It's one of those things were you won't know until you try it. Samsung loads up so much crap in the phone, and a lot of the functions get buried in the system, that it is near impossible to figure out if that extra junk is weighing your phone down or not. About the only way to tell is to get yourself a good list of safe packages to disable and try them out for a few days to see if your battery consumption improves.

And since everyone's usage is unique, you might see improvement, you might not...

No. I had it and got a new s7 edge without putting it on and no difference in battery life

Poor battery life help

Hello I just wanted a solution to the poor battery life I am getting as you can see in the screenshots.

The cell signal at the time of that screenshot doesn't look very good. Since poor signal can contribute to battery drain, it'd be helpful to see the cell signal strength throughout a battery charge cycle. You may have to install an app like GSam Battery Monitor to get that information.

What is under the App Usage in GSAM? Was the 12% drain in 55 minutes while the phone was idle? If so, I'd suspect a rouge app. You might also want to clear both caches.

It's actually the line graph I'm looking for, that shows the cell signal superimposed on the battery level.

Hi I factory rested the phone but the battery still seems to be poor is there any other solution. Also why is device idle draining the battery?

It looks like your cell reception is very low. That will take its toll on your battery.

I was on a different network previously which had good signal but the battery life on this phone was still poor
