I agree...with every update battery life has become less..when phone came with original software battery life was very good..now i can barely get 12 hrs..can anyone confirm that hard reset has solved the problem...
As i have defected screen iam going to samsung to get it repaired after that will hard reset my phone..

Initially the last update diminished by battery life. A cache wipe restored it. However I think my battery life can still get better. I'm seeing a massive jump in battery usage by the antenna. With mobile data off, I get 0.7% per hour, and that's with stuff like Tasker and Lightflow polling for events in the background. But turning mobile data on makes this jump to 3-4% per hour on my latest test.

Has anyone done s factory reset and found battery life improved? I might do it but don't want the hassle for no reward

Try a system cache wipe first. It won't delete anything relevant, and in my case it helped.

Thanks, already done that. So unless I try it again, it basically didn't help. Battery life gets worse with each update it seems

Samsung will Factory Reset it for you (back up everything before you send it in). That's why I am not going to get my phone's wireless charging problem (too slow) repaired, because I do not want to spend days setting my phone up again. Obviously, it would be different if the screen were broken or something; I can live with slow wireless charging since the wired charges fast and I usually just charge it overnight.

Uninstall and then reinstall all large apps after every update. Works for me every time.

Battery life has to be my biggest frustration with android. This phone has such potential with a big battery and for some it works well. But for many there are hidden processes and battery drainers going on that just spoil the experience. It's a shame. Especially when the release firmware was so good and the updates have made things worse

Uh get the exynos version it's WAY better on battery. Trust me.

This is mine with exynos. This is at prob 75% brightness avg all day and playing / downloading quite a few games.

There needs to be a fix for OS being so high and before you ask I'm on the Exynos version not snapdragon and the OS is always in the 30s or 40s

I have some kind of battery bug. This is the 2nd time this has happened now. Phone on charge all night but it's only charged up to 50%. I only realise when I get to work.
