33hrs on battery, 4hrs 10mins screen on time, 2hrs 40mins Web browsing + use of camera (approx. 40 shots plus editing).

47% battery remaining

Interestingly getting huge differences in battery consumption between wifi, data, and no data. I know there should be power usage differences but not this big. Mobile data on my phone (June update) uses up more than 5x more power than when off, and almost 2x that of wifi.

Based on what I found (see pics) standby time when no data is being used looks to theoretically be able to reach 100hrs. But having mobile data would only give it 20hrs standby. For some reason, I'm getting a lot more app activity. Looks like I got to delve into app settings more.

Why is Google services so high and battery draining quick

Why is Google services so high and battery draining quick
Google services can go up on low signal periods as it struggles to keep syncing up. It also reads higher as a percent when the screen is used less because it's a percent. So a low screen use day in a poor signal area has the most potential for nothing but the OS and services to be going.

Nope not at all. I've installed different versions of google services on enough devices to know that it's constantly the source of battery issues.

Look at this article. Google is going in direct competition of all the manufacturers. Wanting all the profits.

Yeah read the source, it's totally baseless. Odds are near 0% of that being true.

This. I also have used Google Services on all my devices (I have had many) and I leave high accuracy, Google Now cards, etc. etc. all on and do not have this huge drain.

Do you have location history switched on? In my experience Google services is much higher with this on as the phone continually reports to Google where you are. Switch it off and Google services will drop. Although still remains relatively high if you use Google now etc

Just wanted to throw in my experience, I received my replacement phone as my misses accidentally knocked my phone out of my hand over the weekend. I've downloaded most but not all the apps I originally had and have updated to the latest firmware. My battery life is noticeably better. At the moment I'm seeing less than 1% battery drain per hour compared to around 3.5% I was experiencing with similar use with my old phone. This is with minimal use but pretty much the same as originally so does show I had something wrong with my old phone.

Now I'm not sure if I must have had a rogue app, or all my tinkering trying to improve battery life actually had the opposite effect but it's at least made me realise that it's less likely to be a firmware issue. I have disabled google backup though which I have read has a really bad effect on the battery life.

It's hard to judge on that little of time. Anything that happens on the phone will show with an usual high percentage due to such a short amount of time.

Been sick today so turns out watching YouTube and movies on my phone for most of the day results in the screen on time being this high .

Impressed since it was left with sync on and I did some light browsing and some instant messaging.

No power saving mode used .

Just got Greenify because a lot of people say it helps. It seems not to. I just greenified Facebook, and it's just up back and running. Pointless. Other stuff seem to get Greenified properly, but the ones that don't are Facebook, Instagram, and 9GAG.
