s7 edge home button scratch issues?

My wife is getting ready to get her new s7 edge and now I keep seeing all these articles and pictures of how easy the finger print scanner scratches. Buddy of mine has a month old s7 no scratches. I talked to a customer where I work with an edge a month old because he had scratches all over his home button . I understand wear and tear will happen but is this something that you just have to expect to happen with the new s7 edge?

Just over five weeks on mine and no button scratches. None on the screen either.

Back is protected by UAG case which is minimal but gives good side grip.

Only bit of mine that isn't protected, but no marks at all on it so far.

Had mine since launch and no scratches

I got my black S7e before it launched and do not see any scratches on the home button nor how you could even scratch it.

Going 3 weeks on my Edge, no scratch. And I don't even have a screen protector. Never used one for the past 7 years (since original Galaxy S, and Gorilla Glass 1).
