S7 Edge or HTC 10

Thanks for the points everyone. Just to be clear, I have the Edge but I get bored quickly and am wondering wether to move on...

I have had the s7edge since release. Recently I began to get bored, and tried the G5 and the HTC 10. In fact, I have the 10 now. I am returning the 10 because the s7e has spoiled me with battery life and the camera. Now, in my opinion, Samsung messed up the camera by changing things on the 7. My s6 had the best camera I have ever had on a phone. Hands down. But, when trying out the 10 camera, even the decreased quality camera on the s7e looked better than the 10. I had to tweak the settings on the 10 to even get a decent picture.

For my usage, the s7e fits me better and fits better into my lifestyle. There were several things about the 10 that seriously annoyed me enough that I couldn't get past. One was the fact that my icons didn't have the notification counters on them. I also wasn't impressed with the battery. But, I was spoiled by the s7e battery. So that isn't a fair comparison. My first smartphone was a HTC (can't remember the model) and I loved it! I wanted to love the 10. I also noticed there seemed to be syncing problems for my apps, which may be why I didn't have notification counters on my icons. I just really wanted to love the 10, and was pretty disappointed that I didn't.

I am now only using my s7e. Gonna return the 10 Monday. Grudgingly.

I love(d) HTC for its M7 but they failed me with camera and literally taking away the beautiful M7 design with M8, so I lost hope with HTC.

I didn't like Galaxy devices as well, mainly due to its non-attractive design and Touchwiz. But with S6 and now S7, clearly things have changed.

I didn't like the normal S7 due to its smaller screen size and battery, but absolutely love my Edge! Camera is another great feature that is hard to beat!

So, go for The Edge!

Cheers guys. Battery life is important to me and I regularly hammer my Edge for more than 4 hours SOT a day with plenty to spare. That would be a worry with the HTC. Things like notification counts etc don't matter as I will always use Nova Prime or GNL anyway but syncing issues otherwise would be a pain.

Yea, S7 Edge has a great (and big) battery. Another reason why I did not go for normal S7.

My wife has the S7E and her android OS is burning through background data at an alarming rate...it uses approximately 150Mb per day...my HTC 10 is very good at managing data usage.

The S7E has much better battery life and the screen is the best on the market. With that said, I would not trade out my HTC and she would not trade out her Samsung...to each their own.

I have to believe that is an app. I have one and have no such problem. Has she disabled all the bloatware using Package Disabler Pro for Samsung? I'd suggest that as a first step.

Yeah that data usage is not normal, probably a rogue app as suggested or something set to check in too often.

You say you wouldn't swap your HTC for the GS7 Edge, can you say what you prefer about it?

Most reviews I've seen don't put the HTC 10 camera far behind the Samsung.

It's not so much that the reviews put the HTC way far behind the Edge, it's more the fact that nearly every review puts the HTC 10 behind the Edge.
