S7 Edge - Verizon preorders

If I recall correctly that is Verizon's doing -- they want the shipping to be tried once at the location that was set.
Correct... If shipped by Verizon (my iPhone pre order through Verizon was shipped by Apple I believe via UPS)

After the first attempted delivery then you can pick up at the fedex location

I really don't care what they want, they should be able to accommodate simple address changes on packages that haven't even been assembled yet. Verizon's not the only one that won't allow an order to be changed, in all fairness.

I order through an verizon enterprise account through my company, placed this order basically 8AM EST on the 23rd and received this 3 hours ago.

*Edit* I also have a S7 Edge silver which was ordered a minute after this one but have not received a shipping confirmation yet.

I get that may not be what you want -- I was simply letting you know why it is the way it is. Sadly they (FedEx) do care why Verizon says since they most likely have a contract between them and it is written that they must try the delivery address first.

FYI-
I mistakenly have my phone set to be shipped to my house. Since it's Fed Ex and they want a signature to deliver it, I'm going to have a problem with no one being home next week.
Of course calling CS did nothing other than to shoot the breeze with the guy about phones. 15 minutes of on and off again holds to tell me it can not be done. The order is PROCESSING, it's ridiculous that I can't modify it. There's no technological hurdle to what I'm asking.

Anyway, I'll have to do what wxman2003 said and pick it up at the Fed Ex facility.

I did this same thing. I have a contact at Verizon that stated once the device has shipped it can be redirected to the other address.

It just makes me mad that Verizon is busy giving everyone the run around two days ago I checked my orders and it said that the date changed to 3/31- no one had answers so I reordered it in a different color- amazingly enough the accessories I ordered through Verizon came in today- but that's about it. The whole point to a pre order is to ensure that you get your devices by launch day- not AFTER. And every rep I talked to said they'd be sent out after. I could honestly care less about the gear- I just want the phone. Simple- the s7 edge finally has what I have been waiting for- more edge functionality. This phone is going to blow Apple and their fan kids out of the water

The reason they don't want you to change a shipping address is due to fraud. A scammer will try to order a phone using stolen CC info and put in all valid shipping information. Then afterwards they will try to change the address to somewhere they can obtain the phone. That method was used to avoid shipping and billing not matching properly.

It sucks, but it prevents fraudulent orders more than you may think.

No shipping change here and no charges to my credit card yet. Hopefully we'll see more movement today and Monday :)

MY shipping address is different than my billing address but that was done while i ordered it on the web

Honestly at this point I hope ours don't come before the 11th lol we won't be home this week to get them, and won't have a chance to even activate them before next weekend.

I wonder if FedEx will accept a paper signature on our door if they do deliver earlier than the 11th.

Excellent explanation! Now, if we can just get them to say "Sorry, we won't change it due to concerns about fraud." instead of, "Hold for 15 minutes while I try to change it. Oops, nope."

It's an antimiotic chemical that prevents the polymerization of microtubules during mitosis. It's also used to make seedless watermelons.
