S7 Facebook question

I have a Galaxy S7. I don't use Facebook which was preloaded on the phone. I went through the apps trying to eliminate stuff I don't need. It appears I eliminated Facebook even though everywhere I read it can't be done unless your phone is unlocked which mine is not. My problem is I did use my Gear VR and Oculus but didn't know Oculus needs Facebook manager to work. I have looked everywhere on the phone in hopes Facebook was just disabled but I can't find it anywhere, even in the settings, applications, all system applications. What do I need to do to use my Gear VR? thanks for the help.

If you need facebook, just download it from the google play store
