S7 "falling apart" today. First I get a dim screen. Now when I click on Google (voice search), there was no sound, vibration or response to my voice

Had this phone over a year. Never had dim screen issues. Had to reboot to restore normal screen function. I don't use any apps that mess with the screen or power settings.

Now, when I click on Google (voice search), there was no sound, vibration or response to my voice. ANOTHER reboot to fix that glitch.

Geez, I don't want to go through the hassle of doing another FR and reinstalling from scratch (I don't trust the restore feature).

SIGH!

Do you have the same issue on Safe Mode? Or have you gotten your phone wet by any chance?

Not wet. I'm wondering if it was a glitchy monthly security patch because I realized yesterday I had trouble with Samsung pay opening up in half screen mode which is quite bizarre. I had to reboot the phone in order to make my purchase using Samsung pay .
I could be wrong but I think the security patch installed itself yesterday

Mmm... I haven't seen any updates show up yet, but I'm currently out of the country so that might be why (plus, China blocks everything here ). But if an update happened, have you tried clearing your phone's cache from Recovery Mode?

I'm not so sure that Google voice search issue is your phone. I've been having that same kind of issue with google on multiple devices.

I cleared the cache since I've posted my last comment but of course it's too soon to tell if there's going to be more weird problems with this phone. The dimming of the screen was something I've never seen before today
