S7 Hot and Restarting

Have had S7 for couple of weeks, no issues until today, device seems to get hot on its own and has restarted 3-4 times in last few hrs. I'm not even using it, has been idle most of that time. I'll just look over and see that it's restarting. One of those times, all my widgets disappeared as well. Anyone else seeing this, any clues how to tell what's going on? ATT is carrier.

Have you tried clearing the partition cache?

Same with mine. It occasionally overheats even if I'm not using it. Fortunately it's not getting to a point when it restarts.

nm googled it Had never heard of this procedure, is this something that should be done regularly to keep things humming?

I do it once every month or so. Just as general maintenence .

Btw, this seems to have been limited to the one hot-restart episode of about 4 reboots. Phone has been behaving for last 24 hrs. Was still very annoying to see all my widgets gone.
